About To Order Clk63amg Cabrio Need Help
Hello Guys and Gals,
Just joined this forum. Some of you may know me from Ferrarichat or 6Speed. I am looking to order a CLK63 AMG Cab but have done the black and silver colors for a long time...any other colors that are interesting...I would like your opinion on White/charcoal or Mars Red/Charcoal with Aluminum Trim on both. Thank you for your input.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of either red or white. Well, I should qualify that, there are certain cars that look very nice in white IMO. For example, I would love to own the old Porsche 3.6 Turbo, and my favorite color for this car would be white. However, I don't think that the CLK would look good in white (makes the car look to feminine).
Red is obnoxious on anything other than a Ferrari, but that's just my candid opinion. Besides, if/when you decide to unload the car, it will be much easier to sell a silver or black one than a red one.
Have you considered granite grey. That's the color of my C55 and I absolutely love it.

Can you get it with a tan top? If so, get designo alanite green (dark green)with natural color hides inside. This will be a special order, costing you a few thousand more but you end up with a unique car.

I would agree with Neilbo on the dark green. Nothing is more classic than a dark british racing green with a cognac interior. Probably special order and will cost you a little more, but definitely worth it IMO. This combo is also unique, I love silver as well, but everyone seems to have a silver.
Either way you go, the CLK63 is going to be absolutely awesome

So far Im leaning toward White with Black interior/Black Top/Aluminum Trim...Keyless Go, Parktronic, Active Vent Seats plus the standard stuff 6CD, Satellite Radio etc. I should be getting the first build date of July so it should be here Aug/Sep.

A black exterior is my favorite, but since you have a Black SL, I think that white or red would be cool. I would agree about the comment about white being feminine except for the fact that the new AMG bodywork is very muscular and would look very good in white. I have seen CLKs in dark red and they look very hot. Either way, congratulations and good luck. It should be an awesome car.

So far as I know, this is the only dark green/cognac w208 55 AMG. When I saw it for sale in Germany I went out of my way to but it. It's not a cab, so less fun in the summertime but more practical the rest of the year! And it will do a better job trying to keep up with the 63 CLK cab than will the 55 Cab .
BTW I checked with MB at the Geneva show. It is possible to get a similar setup for the CLK 63 from MB on a special order basis. The paint costs about $3K and the designo leather and wood will run about the same or double or triple that depending on how much extra leather and alcantara you specify.
