New CLK owner with ?

Hello to all....

I have recently purchased my wife a 02 CLK 430 Cab. I am new to Mercedes and looking for modification suggestion for the car. She (wife) wants a few things done to her and I am hoping to get some do's and dont's from you folks.

The car is a 02 430 Black/Black with a few options. The car is a sweet ride and very diffrent from my toy car. I like the power it has , so not looking to make it faster. We are lookng more towards appearences, Rims s suspension , front bumper change and accessories.

Planned mod's so far is:
US-r front bumper
18" ChromeMonoblock Rims
(Would like to fit 265/35 in front and 295/35 in rear)
Limo tint the side and rear windows
rear lid duck-tail spoiler

Unknown Mods:
Exhaust ( something a liitle more agressive then stock but not extremly loud)
Suspension ( with are good suspension setup's fro 18" wheels)
Possible better brake system.

My toy is on the other side..hehe

Very clean car! It looks to be in excellent shape.

As soon as u mentioned those tire sizes I immediatley knew that you either own a Mustang, Camaro, or Vette. Unfortunately those tire sizes are way too big for the Mercedes. Most of us usually go with 265's in the back, some are able to fit 275's in the back, depending on the wheel size and offset. At least thats on the 03+ models, but I'm pretty sure the 02 model can't fit anything bigger than a 265-275 in the back. Someone with a W208 (sub 03 models) will chime in and give u some more info.

congrats

you can fit 265s in the rear and 235 in the front, i would go w/ 19s, they look much better.

brembo for brakes, eisenmann or supersprint for exhaust, h&r for suspension, i would suggest k&n air filters (i put them in all my cars)
im selling my wheels, they would fit on your car, https://mbworld.org/forums/clk55-amg-clk63-amg-w208-w209/169589-19in-hre-sale.html

haters crazy
As mentioned previoulsy those tire widths are too wide. I have the 18" monoblocks on my W208 CLK55 and I am running 235's up front and 275's in the rear without problems. I have the kleemann suspension on the 55 but I like the H&R Cup Kit on my CLK430 much better. I would suggest 19's instead of 18's if you want it to look good and the eisenmann race exhaust is IMO the best sounding exhaust available.

this thread has helped me out alot! Thank you! Looking into Exhaust, new wheels (stock now, in between 18s or 19s, looking for class.) Let me know, I'd love to see more pics of 18s vs 19s. Just picked up my 02 with 10k miles on it for 30.

Thanks

Jon

Thanks for all the comments. Still cant get the wife to decide on rim style. Most the ones she like only come in 18".

Still awaiting the US-R bumper to arrive. By summer I plan to have more mods on it.
