11.7s @ 118.9mph

Video speaks for itself:
http://www.hostdub.com/albums/PBWB_a..._75_118_91.mpg
I put in a massive heat exchanger afterwards and it helps alot with cooling the supercharger. Unfortunately it wouldnt fit behind the AMG bumper (dremeled ALOT of the bumper out, it was a new bumper too ) and couldnt be centered due to the inlet/outlet being pointed towards the back of the car and not having enough space. I may relocate the inlet/outlet to the side so that I can center the heat exchanger or I may just go back o stock (that would require a new bumper). Anybody know where I can get a BIG dual pass heat exchanger with inlet/outlet on the same side AND on the side?

That sounds great, thanks. Wont that mess with the ECU though? My supercharger cooling system and engine cooling system are seperate (except for a leed line in case I have a leak so that fluid will dump into the s/c cooling system) but keeping engine temps down = lower intake temps = more power.

I know this might sound crazy, but I dont want to run 10's. 10's are just a bottle away My goal was to hit 11's and I've already done that. Anything lower than 11.5 requires a roll cage at the track and I dont want that. I drive it 3 or 4 times a week. With this new heat exchanger, a little tuning, and my eisenmann race exhaust I think I should be right around that 11.5 range which is good enough for me. I'm only at 7 PSI and FULL interior (including spare) so I know that this car can run 10's with very little work. But thats not what I want. Its already the fastest CLK55 I've ever heard of, and thats back when I ran a 12.1 I'm a full half a second faster than any other CLK55 I know of so thats good enough for me. My new goal is 11.5 @120+mph. Tracks are closing for te season soon so I may have to wait til next year,

RE:other stuff

I've got over 100 of the stats out there. No, it will not screw up the ECU. Only one complaint on a N/A motor(E-55 W-210) in Northern Cali. I sent him a Taller spring. Fix his coolant below expected range ERR code, It works Great on F/I motors. The Guy's in the E-55 W-211 forums. say it works great for them. They tried the -10 degree fan setting mod first. It helped ,but the fans got extremely loud. The thermostat brought their temps from 200 F range down to 180 - 189 F range. and the fans were not running as hard ? fast. Well with Winter coming on . You might want to do this mod went the car is layed up , when its snowing out. If you got the Kleemann Kompressor set up. You would need to send me the thermostat & hsg assy. They cast up there own Hsg , but transfer the 200 F , MB pieces into it. What I do is completely reverseable and I return the stock pieces. So you can change them back at any time. In just minutes.

I'm not far behind in the Quest of the 1/4 mile times.
I'm currently running a W-209 body style. 12.36 et / 114 mph. With a N/A motor! and you are right once they flag you for going under the 11.50. your a marked man!! . But I've been tossed out of better places for worse things Happy Motoring ___PTE___

PTE, thank you for the mod thermostat. I finally installed it today and like it alot. At first, I was worry because the temp needle doesn't go past the
80c mark when i went on the freeway for about 10 miles. When I got off the freeway, the temp risen up a little past the 80c and stay there. Now, everything seem to work fine and the needle is at 80c mark on a 56F night. Btw, I no longer have the HPS sc on mine CL 55.

I also try the fan mods in the past when I still have the HPS sc on mine CL 55.The -10 degree fan work great but the noise from the fan is very loud when it at full speed and it on most of the times at full speed. It bother me something when I pulled in my garage and the fan is still at full speed and I have to seat there for a minute at least for the engine to cool down before turning off the engine. Now, that I installed "PTE" mod thermostat, I don't even hear the fan turn on (I hope the fan still working :>).)

Yeah, nice time, and it can get better.

What's the siren-like noise on the video ? The noise starts growing just after the suave narrator says "money". Is that the supercharger's whine?

I thought that intercooler was for the E55. I already cut up my stock bumper but may be interested in the Hi Tech Boyz intercooler. How much does it cost just for the part (heat exchanger)? Some pics would help too. Especially if you have some pic sof it installed on the clk.
PS- I think I met you at Capitol yesterday.

Thanks everybody. I went home to see if I could find the time slip during my lunch break but I couldn't find it! I did find the next run I did (hot lap) which I ran a 11.79 I will post that up later tonight but I'll hopefully find the 11.75 one before then. The car with the old setup should have been able to go 11.6 in my opinion.

Hmmm, possible more power via cooler temps for the SLK. I'm interested in your 80 C thermostat. Pls elaborate on current success with other 55 F/I motors, availability, and cost. Thanks much.
