Dear Mr. K.,
We have written to you on several occasions explaining that while we do have sales figures for some of our vehicles available on our website, we do not have production numbers for AMG models. In our July 10, 2002 response to you we explained that we are in the process of updating our Eebsite, and while we have no definitive information at this time, we do hope to have
the information you are requesting available on our website in the near future.
We solicit your understanding regarding our limitations to provide you with the exact information you are requesting as it is currently not available.
If you are still dissatisfied with this response, we invite you to contact a Customer Relations Representative at 1-800-FOR-MERCedes (1-800-367-6372).
Sincerely,
Jan Barone

They are pissing on your leg and telling you that it's raining!
If MBUSA cannot keep track of how many vehicles they import to North America, then how would they keep track of their finances? How would they file taxes without any problems?
I would respond telling them that you didn't spend $80k to be dicked around when you have a simple question about sales figures that can easily be answered.
If the monkey that you e-mailed cannot answer it, then surely he/she can quickly ask one of her superiors who would know.

I thought that the private sector would fire those lazy, incompetent bureaucrats, - hiding behind red tape at MBUSA headquarters.
It's truly pathetic that MBUSA has that kind of "QUALITY" personnel running their PR operation in the United States of America.
Simply disgraceful!!

You had another thread about this, and I'll post it again here: you'll only find sales figures for the US. It's very unlikely that you'll find breakdowns for production or import, for past, present, or future. Only sales. That information is hard to find, but it is considered public. I couldn't find any public sales figures, at least broken down to any useful measure. http://www.daimlerchrysler.com has breakdowns for the Chrysler Group's cars, but none for MB.
They know exactly how many cars were produced, imported, sold, repaired, destroyed, and lost. They know exactly how much money they made and lost on each car. It's just that they're never going to tell you about it.
