2002 CLK 55 AMG Coupe ;)
0-60 mph acceleration is 5.0 seconds!
The 2003 CLK55 AMG Coupe is slower than my "way of life"
the 2002 CLK55 AMG, which MB rated conservatively 0-60
mph as 4.9 seconds.
Hopefully this will lay to rest the previous 0-60 km times for
the metrically challenged!!

well....
I remember the first printed material that came out for the CLK 55 208's, MBUSA had the 0-60 at 5.2secs...remember being dissapointed as I was about to pick up my 55 coupe at the time, until they changed it to 4.9 secs the following year (although had already sold mine by then)....so the moral of the story is wait a year and lets see what MBUSA prints then

0-60 in 5sec 03 CLK55
Guys,
I've Been trying various techniques I the best I could manage is 5.1 sec on my 02 CLK55 //AMG - is there anyone out there who can truly say they obtained the 4.9sec times has listed by MB ?
It's Hard To Keep That Much Trq Down On With Rubber Without Spinning.

............I wish the supercharged 493Hp V8 engine will make its way into the new CLK 55. The problem is that it might become faster than the SL55 and MB will not want that. I understand MB's concern but I find it curious that the new CLK's are slower than the cars that they are replacing.

We may see the CLK55 Kompressor yet...
Put yourself in the place of MBZ marketing. They do not want to poison SL sales, so they are saying no CLK55 AMG Kompressor and they are even hedging on the suposedly anounced E55 AMG Kompressor.
But wait untill the SL55 and E55 AMG Kompressor models are out for a year or two and see. Remember, we were told there would never be a CLK55 cab -- the cab body just could not handle the torque. Or that there would "never" be a SL AMG that undercut the SL600. And what are we seeing now?
If you do not like that analysis, here is another . If MBZ sees too many CLK430s getting Klemanized, watch what happens.
My take: We may see a CLK55 con hueveos near the end of the model run; we may even see an industrial strength CLK55 cab in th every last year of this series.
