When I started this thread it was almost a year ago, everything has changed, you CAN'T get the key CHEAP anymore. You CAN'T order it online. Its that simple.

So if anyone is looking for this key, just go to your dealership and order it.

This Thread was started by me when the key first came out, and there was a glitch in the Computer for pricing. Whoever got a key back then, I'm glad I could help, anyone trying to get one now, your just to late!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was disappointed to find out that the great website previously reported has been shut down. If only I bought my car a year ago!

I ordered a replacement key for my clk55 today at Mercedes Benz of Buffalo. They charged me 184.00 for the remote key and 7.28 for the blade key (plus tax). It seemed to be in line with what other U.S. dealers are charging.

Did this include the "programming"? Not sure what they do for this.

Keys come pre-programmed from the factory. They cannot be re-programmed so don't try to buy one off of ebay.

Too bad this is only for you guys in the States... I tried the website and could not get in the part numbers... so I called and the guy gave me AutoParts Canada phone number... and of course, they do not have the parts.
So my options are either to stay with my black standard key or go to MB and get a chrome key for about $350 CAD.

I have a 05 CLK500. I get how to order the key, but after you receive the key, is it already programmed for your car and nothing else is needed?

Yes it's already programmmed and everything but you have to give the VIN in order for them to program.

I know that this is a very old thread and instead of starting a new thread and reading about people telling me to do a search I decided to continue with thiss one. Does anybody have an update on these keys or is it the same as a year ago.

What is our question exactly? Can you purchase a key for 60 bucks? No this was a pricing error MBUSA had in the system with not correctly superseding the part numbers with a 9999 at the end it only lasted a short while. Can you purchase keys online? I doubt it, it's in violation of MBUSA key ordering policy for any dealer to order a key without proper original documentation or without the vehicle being present at the dealer when picking up the key.

you can only go to the dealer but call and ask for prices to see which dealer is cheaper. I got charged $285 for the new chrome key. Another dealer called me back after I already purchased mine saying they could of did it for around $230. If you want just the chrome key without a new copy theres a member who can put the insides of your old key into the new chrome key

One of my keys isn't working properly. So changing just the inside may not work for me. Gonna call some dealers and see what kind of prices are out there.
