SMG??... yeay. Hopefully they'll also sell one with a clutch pedal.
If I wanted a clutchless gearbox, I'd buy an AMG.

This car's gonna be great, but for now the 335i will suffice for me..

I wonder if a modded 335i would be able to handle the new M3...

More boost and LSD on the 335i would spell murder to the M3!

My thoughts exactly...plus the twin turbos put out some nice tq #s if boosted. But, only time will tell. I'm sure BMW knows what they're doing since the last M3 was a legend. Looking at the official pics from Geneva, it looks pretty hot to me.

My money is on the experts at MBUSA who have concluded that offering this type of vehicle to US consumers is unadulterated folly, pure and simple. They favor high-power sedans, convertibles, SUVs, pseudo coupes and roadsters, while treating high-power coupes with distain.

And, don’t get me started on manual transmissions. Those would be acceptable if multi-limbed space aliens were driving, but in the US the operator quickly exhausts all appendages with beverages, telephones, newspapers, grooming and the all-important vehicle-to-vehicle signaling.

The new M3 looks outstanding and I would consider purchasing this machine, but I can’t leave the fold.

Not an attempt. I was involved and witnesed way too many freeway accidents because people 'thought' they were good drivers and figured a highway is an indy car lap. My friends Venom went airborn on the freeway at 160, did three turns in the air and slid on the roof for about a quarter mile. Oh... it was a convertible too.

Do yourself and others a favor and endanger your life without others around you.

it's hard to top the e46M3's looks, but as a whole package new M3 has done it once again. it'll be interesting to see real life track laps compared to rs4, and c63. i also hope the clutch will not be light like 335's, and more precise steering. the drawback of buying it, well, everyone and their mother will have one, just like e46M3s.

for the c63,
hopefully though MB will realize one of these days that it's not enough to just have more hp, they must work more on handling as well.
and for the love of enthusiasts and drivers, will AMG please please make just one model in manual tranny!
