Kw Vi Coilovers W209 Clk 55 Amg
I was searching the forums and I stumbled upon a post in one of the other car categories for some W209 V6-V8 KW V1 coilovers. Group 5 Motorsports in San Diego ordered them for a guy with a W208 by mistake. They reordered the correct coilovers but kept the W209 coilovers. Long story short they had not sold them and so were looking to move them quickly at cost. I called a really nice guy in their office Troy and he hooked me with the coilovers for $1000. If there is anyone in that area that is looking for great service give them a call. This guy went out of his way to make sure they were compatible with my CLK 55 AMG. He also took the time to let me know that I would need front and rear spacers to create the proper clearance. So not only did he save me money but time as well.
I had considered the Euro spring set-up but I like the adjustable ride height i will get with the KW V1's. They dampening is not adjustable but Troy says the ride is really comfortable and very close to stock.

It looks similar to mine. Here's a pic of what mine looked like. Can you see a difference between the two?

i am wondering now if maybe we just needed to spin the sway bar around. we will have to get under there and play around now. it seemed like the location of the sway bar bracket was lower on the coilover than on the strut. my end link is almost 12inches long. thanks for the pic.

update: the stock endlinks worked just fine. we put them on the car last night just to make sure we did not perceive something incorrectly and low and behold they fit with about a quarter of an inch of clearance.
these KW's really do ride amazing considering how damn low my car is. clearance from the front bumper to the ground is about 4 1/2 inches.

yeah me too. i was not looking forward to dealing with custom endlinks. it is sick how well these coilovers ride though.
