Any DFW folks up for the open track nite at Ennis this Friday?
Anyone else interested in going? We could see if some C32, E55 (and even some M3/M5) folks want to show up and have some good-natured German fun (and rivalry if some Bimmer guys show up!)

Between my girlfriend and I (we swapped every other run - we left the traction control on for her - she hit 13.9 - 14.1 all night long - should have made her a bracket racer) we made like 10 runs. We got there at 6pm - and we literally ran the car non stop it seems with back to back runs for 50 minutes straight, never turning off the car. It was the same 20 cars cycling through at that time. Then it came to a crawl as a lot of folks showed up. It was over an hour and a half for the last run.
I was getting better and better cutting my times practicing my launches but then the wait got ridiculous and the tires got cold.
If I power braked at anything over 1500 rpms, the rears broke loose. My best times were maybe 1200-1500 rpms, get off the line and roll the throttle as fast as I felt I could without spinning.
We had one C32 show up late - he ran a respectible 13.7+ on his first run (first time ever drag racing - work on that reaction time
My other fellow CLK55er ran I think a 13.4 on his first run and then maybe a 13.5 and then I think started to settle into the 13.7 range. I'm sure they will both post. Anyway - here are some pics - enjoy!

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
Improviz staging
First run was best:
13.466@105.37, 60' = 2.125
The other three best runs:
13.589@104.31, 60' = 2.174
13.619@104.33, 60' = 2.174
13.664@103.86, 60' = 2.155
All of these were done with traction control off, with powerbraked launches from 1200-1500 rpm (I tried one at 2000, and spun so badly that I ended up running over 14 seconds!). I did three others in the 13.71-13.85 range...last race was against a guy in a tricked-out 540i wagon with M5 wheels, an M5 front end, and a supercharger. My reaction time was horrible on this run, so he crossed the line first even though I ran the better time: I ran 13.853@103.18 to his 14.247@95.80. The track was quite slick by this time, and I had some pretty bad wheelspin despite launching at 1500 rpm. Once rolling, I was reeling him in quickly, but couldn't quite close the 0.6 sec. gap I lost on reaction time. Here are the splits, me on left, him on right (same as the race):
reaction: 1.236/.592 (yeah, I know...it was late!)
60': 2.289/2.102
330': 5.988/5.940
1/8: 9.028@80.51/9.149@76.79
1000: 11.657/11.897
1/4: 13.853@103.18/14.247@95.80
Nice ending to the night...it made me feel pretty good to beat the ET of a supercharged 540, but knowing that a lousy reaction time cost me the race took a bit of icing off the cake!
I'd like to try again when it's a bit less damp outside. The track was a bit on the slick side...
It was nice to meet another CLKer there (bodyart27, who took some cool pics)...
