AMG posers

hah wow i was talking to the guy who owns the dealership my parents buy from (im friends with his son) and he was telling me about the crossfire being a slk in a chrystler body, so maybe thats what the guy was picking up on idk, but that is stupid. I dont have an AMG but will be getting a c63 in about a year when i leave for college (im only 17) i cant wait, but even when i dont have one the people who act like they do make me mad. i have put a lot of custom work into my c350 sport and i could give the c63 a run for its money, but i dont call it an amg because of it. if u cant get it, dont act like it.

There was a car in my shop that had "S65" and "AMG" on the decklid and a full Lorinser body kit and as I walked by it (the hood was open) and saw the little plane jane "V8" engine cover on it.................it was a bare bones S550.

just my two cents.
everyone has the right to do whatever they want. who am i to tell them not to.
but that doesnt mean i wont clown you for it.
personally, i debadged everything, including my star and filled in the hole in where most put a flat hood badge. i like the clean look.
sf bay area is small. i tend to see the same cars commuting the same roads at the same times.
i run into this "c32" often. first time, it was on 280 northbound around city college. i thought something was off. looked real enough but something was off about it.
next time i ran into on sunset blvd (local streets) ahhh thats what it is. damn, this guy went all out, rims, muffler, body kit... but no suspension? i had to turn off before i could pull up next to him, so no fun yet.
next time i ran into this "c32", i was on 101 northbound, had my girlfriend in the car with me. i had to stop her mind sentence, told her "ive been meaning to do this for a long time." i slam on the gas and catch up to him. i pull up right next to him going about 80, slam on it, let it off, slam on, it let it off. blow right by him, slow down, blow right by him, slow down.
initally, he tried to roll once..... but i think he figured out his "c32" was no match for my stock c55. he just changed lanes and stayed nice and steady in the slow lane.
i do occasionally run into this "c32" often. the girlfriend thinks im an a$$ for doing what i did. she said, why do you do that?
i told her the same thing i said earlier....

no offense, but if I see someone doing that next to me I'd move out of the way too and thinks the driver's an *** too.

This whole "poser" talk is ridiculous...It's just expression folks...Some people act as if their cars are going down in value because others have the AMG badges or stickers on them. Who gives a damn??!! LoL! Well, obviously most of the folks here do....I just don't get it at all. Why would they put a sticker or badge if it's not a true designation? Who knows? Maybe they hold AMG or M in high regard. Maybe to **** true AMG or M owners off. Why de-badge your car? Hiding something? You wanna tell the folks ignorant to the aftermarket world that you're driving something you're not? I see it as something that is all in personal taste. The guys with the badges and stickers know that they are not driving an AMG or M product. Just as the guys with no badges know that they are driving some variant of car...sold with a name where they removed it. If it wasn't there when you got...oh well...
I can just see some guys now...pissed at the world because they spent all that money on an AMG or M powered vehicle...now, here comes some Joe Schmoe who simply adds a badge and is killing them on the dyno! WTF is going on in this world? It's just not fair man!
Now, go for a drive

What's the point of sticking AMG or other badges on a standard car,
it's like sticking a pipe in your pants, OK to look at, but what happens when
you put your foot down.

here it is in simple terms pre-6.3 liter V8, 368 > 302, hand assembled > than assembly line, high performance suspension > standard suspension. more power, better handling, and a hand assembled engine. plus who doesnt enjoy owning the best a marque has to offer. prestige does play a part otherwise we would all be driving fords.

Hi All, its no different here in Aussie, they are all buying AMG badges here. They buy a couple AMG options and then put the badge on.

There are many diverse tastes out there.
Some want badges on their cars . . .
I preferred to remove all of the "V-8 Kompressor" lettering and AMG badging from my CL55.
I simply like the "cleaner" look. And, I am sure that anyone who knows the cars will know what the car is by the wheels, brakes, and quad exhaust tips.

The only problem with this picture is the color of the car, that crossfire SRT-6 is as much an AMG as your car or mine, next time you see one ask the guy to pop the hood, authentic AMG plaque on engine signed by the builder just like any other AMG car out there.

So an SRT-6 crossfire has an AMG badge on the engine? Seriously? Thats not right.
