What is the deal with the harshness? Perhaps you should STFU as well. I just asked simply what you meant. You explained, and that is a correct assessment in bold. Thanks!

What if he said "they" meant black people? Because your previous post seemed as if it was provoking him to admit he was indeed talking about a specific race. I'm not saying that's how you meant for it to sound, just that it did. We're all friends here, right?

Since you asked..I will answer, and nothing more on it.

1. A question is not provoking. I asked what he meant as it was implied. An even deeper question, why go off like that when asked?
2. Rather than explain, he resorted to name calling and then explained.
3. If that was what he meant, then so be it. At the end of the day I like honesty.

Why would you badge your car with Barbus if it has not been mod'd by them? The whole point is that they take a normal MB and make it something special. Same thing as putting AMG on non-AMG car. On the two company badges I think you get laughed off the road.

The C30 CDI AMG is actually real, quoting wikipedia:
The C 32 AMG scaled back down to a 3.2 L V6 engine, to match the E46 M3 displacement and improve weight distribution, but it required a twin-screw type supercharger (manufactured by IHI) to reach 354 PS (260 kW; 349 hp)) at 6100 rpm and 450 N·m (332 lb·ft) at 4400 rpm. Like its predecessors, it used a five-speed automatic, helping it to complete a 0–100 km/h sprint within 5.2 seconds. The second version was C 30 CDI AMG, using a 3.0 L five-cylinder engine, capable of 231 PS (170 kW; 228 hp) at 3800 rpm and 540 N·m (398 lb·ft) at 2000 rpm. Both were available in all three body styles, but the diesel model did not reach sales expectations and was retired in 2004, as well as the C 32 AMG Sportcoupé.

I see at least 2-3 fake AMGs in my neighborhood every day. I should start taking pics. Yesterday I saw an E320 where the guy had placed the ///AMG badge on the driver's side, and the E55 on the passenger's.

Hmmm. Not sure how I feel 100% as an owner of a "real" AMG 63 I am a little torn.

When I see an MB with the AMG appearance pkg have a badge on the trunk I don't necessarily believe they are a poser in the strict sense which most would believe the term to define. If their MB's have the package and their wheels say AMG, what's the difference if it says so on the trunk? In other words it already comes from the factory with one placement of AMG on its rims so what if it is added on the trunk. If one uses the argument that having a badge on the trunk says they are posing then the AMG on the rims should be considered an equal violation which most wouldn't agree is the case. If I was a layperson who didn't know better and walked by a MB where the rims were branded with the AMG signage, I might infer that the model was an AMG and the mistake would be mine, not the owners so why should it be any different by having the same logo badge on the trunk or elsewhere?

I guess my point is if a MB with the factory appearance pkg says in one place AMG, I don't see a big issue adding more AMG logo's on the trunk or seats or where ever the owner tastefully placed them and I think it is a stretch to call them posers

On the other hand any model which doesn't have the AMG appearance pkg or came from the factory with AMG on it, that would be wrong and falsely putting on airs.

Just my 2 cents.

Thanks Dynomite05 for recommending this site to me and hopefully I can add something useful to it from time to time!

Just to clarify for you. The trunk badge is put on there by the factory on true AMG vehicles, not by owners or some asshat at a dealership. Just because a car might come with an AMG appearance package doesn't mean it gets the trunk badge from the factory. Why you ask? Because its not a true AMG. One simple way to think about it is: no engine, no badge.
Just having an appearance package doesn't give the owner the right to put an AMG badge on the trunk. Its a free country so they can if they want but they will be called a poser. And a poser is an accurate way to describe them.

So just because their wheels might say AMG doesn't mean they are driving an AMG.

If anyone other than the factory had to put that badge on there then you know its a poser!

Stiggs, support the position you take here as there are tons of cars over here with the AMG appearance packages. That been said, how would we classify someone who dropped real AMG engine into standard car? Companies like Vath actually sell some real AMG engines that have been removed from cars that have been mod'd. Right now they have two 156s for sale. So if someone bought one of these motors, and dropped it into C/CLK/E/SL/S series would the car be classified as a "true" AMG?

I dont know about you guys, but If i had an AMG anything, I would debadge. I just like the clean look and I have noticed that after debadging the 500, ive gotten alot of weird looks from people wondering what kinda benz it is and stupid people trying to race in their rice boxes cause they think i have a 320 or 350. I dont race that often, but if some punk kid ricer gets on my *** or is blowing his turbo valve, ill drop the hammer. Now a debadged 55, 63, or 65, thats a true sleeper and a beast that would dust alot of cars on the road, at least where i live anyway. But would i ever put an AMG badge on my 500? NO WAY! why advertise something you dont have?

That's a whole separate issue I would say. I'm talking more about people that have 350s or 500s with an appearance package and badge. That is straight posing. I'm not sure what happens if you put in an AMG engine.

According to definition, that would be an AMG? Got engine, get badge...

Of course it's still not a factory AMG. The vin number won't get you into the private lounge website.

Just a technicality...you are right not factory, but my point was it would qualify to bear the badge if one wanted to put in on correct?
