Wow, somebody had NO shame on this one. Sheisty sales technique - wise to correct that BEFORE you take photos and show the vehicle!

How do you like this one:

Is actually a damaged CLK55 which was restored into a 'Black Series'.

I'm not sure what kind of engine, suspension etc that he put into the replica. I agree that it cost lots of money but it looks like a fun project. It seems to be a nice job and the owner is proud of his work. The vin will always say "55 but if the engine etc are "63 parts, it's less of a poser to me than people who just smack on an AMG badge (which most posts here have done).

And because I couldn't remember if I posted this one here or not (realized I didn't) you get a really good one!

It has the original 55 engine.

What I don't understand is: leave the badges away and you have something truely unique, put the badges on and it's fake.Originally Posted by tomtomtomtom

BTW. Car registration tax is around 100% in Holland, so a used CLK 55 cost around 60.000$....

Not too sure where you get that from, but in Holland they have BPM (import tax) which is somewhere in the vicinity of 20-30%. Also clk55's cost around 17k Euro, nowhere near what you claim...Originally Posted by clk63DK

CLK55AMG from germany - 2005model / 76000km 17000€ (10000 damaged)
around 41000€ + parts + labour...
Dosent change the fact that if the basis is a 55, then it is not a poser, only a build that could have been seen in this forum as a cool thread...

The definition of 'poser' is getting really complicated.

for the build - I still think it is a nice car - imagine what a mild (or less mild) tune of the 55 engine would do to the beast..

was more referring to the fact that he came up with quite random numbers... was just wondering what they got for that 41k euro.
