I honestly don't notice too many fake BMWs in my area. The first I've seen was just last week where a 640 was rebadged as M6, but aside from that I only see a few fake "M" badges from time to time but none are as bad as the Benzes I see.

Check pictures on this link https://mbworld.org/forums/sl-class-...r-r231-sl.html and wanted to see anyone comments on this. SL550 2013 from dealer. I don't think putting AMG badge on non AMG Mercedes especially SL class is wrong.

Okay, so next putting a Mercedes badge on a smart car will be ok? It's faking an AMG which is wrong, I mean let them do it if they want but I don't think they know how incredibly stupid it is. It is ESPECIALLY bad to do so on such a nice car, why ruin a new SL550 like that?

Without an AMG VIN, you are not an AMG owner. Very simple.

I got a question, I have a CLK550 with the AMG appearance package. I would never think about putting an AMG badge on my rear. With that said, I am looking for new centercaps. Is it acceptable to roll with AMG centercaps on AMG wheels, while driving a non AMG car. Opinions? I am looking for some new centercaps, something a little different than the Mercedes symbol.

I totally and obsolutely agreed with togaclk55100%. It's your money and your car do whatever you like and want and no one can stop from what your doing. This is a feedback from AMG owner(s) that you've been waiting for. There is no right or wrong putting AMG badge so it's time to STOP talking about the poser and moving on.

AMG "Sport Package
I used to own an E420 that had an AMG "Sport Package". It was "badged" (standard motor, suspension etc). An ex MB sales guy told him his dealership did it, so it might not be the owner's fault.

No AMG Sport Package came with an AMG badge, ever. You're right in that dealers sometimes badge their cars like that but no engine no badge and it should be taken off.

exactly. it doesn't matter who put the badge on (whether it was the dealer or the previous owner or your grandmother or the dealer's grandmother) the badge should not let people falsely claim to own an amg or be tricked into buying an "amg"
