Yes, I know

At this rate, by the time I've had it 3 full years it'll be ready for its 9,000 mile check-up

You're like that dad who works late every night and never gets to play catch with your son. I might have to call AMG protective services on you for neglect!

Talking

LOL

Hey, I baby my Beast, but when I take it out, we have fun ... 135 on a nice empty uphill stretch of the 2 Freeway at 4 AM anyone

On a more serious note, I found a black 2002 Cab with normal miles (54,000+) on it on eBay Motors, looking in really nice shape, yet going for $26,950 obo. (And a couple of others - with slightly less mileage - for not much more than that.) Sad to see the depreciation on these magnificent vehicles.

I guess I must be out of my mind thinking that someday a low-mileage mint condition CLK55 will bring big bucks at a Barrett-Jackson auction!

I'm showing my age but when I think of all the "classic" Mercedes convertibles (230, 280, 450 et al.) that have held their value pretty well over the years, it seems like that whole concept is sort of 'lost' nowadays. All these cars seem to go for ridiculous prices when new, then plummet in value in only a few years. Back in the day, only Cadillacs did that!

the truth is, the mercedes star has been abused. They slap it everywhere. You put a HUGE star on the front of every vehicle, what do you expect? Mercedes needs to market to a younger crowd so now everyone has a mercedes. Its not rare and special like it used to be. If you drive a C class or a S class, you still drive a mercedes. dont know where you guys are from but here in NYC, you see tons of MB cars everywhere you go.

Cars were meant to be driven. I go through this with my Ferrari buddies. It seems like they play the game....."Whoever has the lowest miles wins". I could die tommorow, I don't want my last drive to be in a Civic, because I didn't want to put miles on the 'good' cars. Truth be told...they actually work better when they are driven.
