Moved to Las Vegas- Does Everyone Here Want to Race?
I just relocated to Las Vegas. My first impression is that drivers here are race prone. I rarely had any car want to race in Salt Lake City, Utah. However, my first week here I had a Saturn (V6) race off the line, a G35 rev me and race off the line, a BMW Z4 race off the line and a new model Mustang GT try and pull on me from a light. Non of the competition was successful but that goes with out saying as none of them have the same rated horse power.
My surprise is that so many cars drive fast and actually are seeking to race. Maybe it is because I never see any police cars around. They must all be down on the Strip.
Any members on the board that live here?

SpeedTunningUSA ECU Upgrade
Sure, this is a SpeedTunningUSA ECU Upgrade. I had them raise the redline from 6000 to 6500, remove the speed limitation of 155 mph and advanced the timing for extra HP- which requires the car to use 94 octane in order to notice the benefit.
These items are mostly for the track where I wanted to hold 1-3rd gear longer without hitting the rev limiter and have extra HP. I did notice some difference while driving on the street but this is admittedly hard to do since the car has a lot of HP and TQ.
The car was dynoed with some pretty good numbers at high altitude.

Try moving to Socal...
anyways, I think the fact everyone wants to race is they see a "fixed up" Benz, the kids start to think , my civic/rsx/mustang/rice rocket worth $15k can smoke this $50k benz ( they prob dont know current market price).
Its an ego thing for them. so what if they can win, they are the ones that want to be driving home in your car....

2005 CLK 55 AMG Cabriolet
That's funny. I've lived in Vegas for the past 3 years. I just sold my Corvette Z06. (505HP). Only one modded mustang ever wanted to race. So just to let him test out his supercharger, I ran with him off the line. He did come pretty close though. So I gave him a thumbs up for a nice run. Then the driver rolls down the darkly tinted window and it turns out the driver is a hot chic! She blows me a kiss, winks and takes off. My one and only race story in Vegas.

moparrbust,
My original post wasn't a solicitation to race people in Las Vegas, but that it seemed to me a lot of people wanted to race.
In any case, I would greatly appreciate information on the 11/21/08 open track night. Can you give me the general details such as arrival & closing time, cost, estimated runs in a night? Thanks in advance.

I know..............but I'll still race you at the track. lol. I don't care who I line up against, I've race anything from a 7 second dragster to a 19 second Honduh.
Midnight Mayhem is on Friday the 21st and starts at 9pm and ends at 1am. It's best to arrive at least an hour early to get in line as there are a LOT of cars. It's $10/race $5/watch and the amount of runs you get is dependant upon the driver. I usually do 3-4 passes but if you like to hotlap and stay until 1am you could do 10-15 passes. You can find all the track info at lvms.com

This was posted close to four years ago. I know reflect back and it doesn't seem like anyone wants to race now. Maybe it was my perception at the time. Funny thing is that I now see police cars all over the place.
