2005 E55
New owner of 2004 CLK55
I picked up a 2004 CLK55 a couple of weeks ago. Low mileage (< 20k), 2+ years of factory Starmark warranty, and a color combo which I really like (orion blue metallic with black/blue interior).
The car compares pretty favorably against my E39 M5. The handling is not quite as sharp, but the car feels very solid with no squeaks or rattles. Also gets pretty good mileage. In mostly city driving, we are averaging about 16 mpg, vs. 13 mpg for the M5.
The interior fit and finish is very good, but I don't care for the metallic trim - it looks and feels cheap, reminding me of the "brushed aluminum" trim in my old E46. Wood grain or real aluminum would be much better.
Overall, I'm happy with the purchase, especially at the price. I took a couple of pictures after detailing it with my new Porter Cable, Pinnacle polishes and Souveran wax to get rid of most of the swirl marks. Also added a pic of my E39.

Nice car, the W211 CLK55.
I'd replace the orange side markers with clear or smoked, 18s from a C55, a a light tint all round (35-50%) and you'll have a successor worthy of filling some very big shoes.

CLK55 AMG
That color is great! I love my black CLK55 but I've always had a blue car until my Benz and your CLK in blue looks awesome! My previous car was an Orient Blue E46 BMW. I was looking at several 2002 M5 cars but when I saw and drove the CLK55 I had to go to the dark side, and I'll never go back.
I got my car with 35% tint and it makes the car look even better, on your blue car it should look great, definitely a good addition.
Congratulations on going to the dark side, you will not regret it.
