These cars are always lower to the ground than you think...If you accidentally pull over one, get out and check before you back up off it...The 1/2 inch of rebar steel protruding from the top got me as I backed up...lol!

$1800 later she's all fixed.

Yes this is a problem, I usually back in or stay far away from the curb, but once up on it, theres nothing left to do but back off and crack your bumper! Sucks......

Yeah I already scrap the bottom front bumper underneath and since then I have been very cautious when I pull up to the curb or parking

The good thing about the models with the Airmatic suspension is that you can raise the vehicle above it

Yes there is, you look a little silly doing it, but all it takes is finding a big piece of cardboard and slide it between the bottom of the bumper and the parking block. Slide it under the car about 2 feet, and as long as the bumper doesnt catch on the block, it will flex up and over it. I do it all the time at work when customers park their own cars.

Its even worse with an SL. The concrete "Monsters" will eat your skirt every time. The few times I do give it to a Valet I always tell them NOT to get even close the the "Concrete Monster" Another cute trick I saw once was to use a CD Case and shove it as opposed to a piece of cardboard. And yes use the
UP button if your car has one !
