Paddle shift
I wanna be certain of one thing...
Can't see from the picture I've seen
Does the W209 CLK55 AMG have the paddle shift??
(like the ferrari's F1) being in the back of the steering wheel
thanks

Yes, the 2005 has the button on the back of the steering wheel and the 2006 has the paddle shift on the back of the steering wheel. Btw, all wood steering wheel option does not come with steering wheel shift button/paddle.

2002 CLK 55 AMG Coupé
CLK 63 definitely has the paddles on the steering wheel. I test drove a coupe last year. Downshifts do not blip the throttle, however, unlike some other car marques' automatics. I have read that the new 63 C class AMG does blip.
It seems strange to me that wood steering wheels and paddle shifts can't mix. A bit of parts-bin engineering. Not a good move from a manufacturer who must add luxury to win customers.

i have a 2003 w209...it has "switches" on the back of the steering wheel. not exactly "paddles". if i remember right i think the transmission shifts slightly faster using the paddle mode. i never really noticed if it does...
so 3 modes...C for comfort, S for for sport, M for paddle shifting

ok good to know it has button shift in the back of the steering
soo... it would be a possible mod to swap to a CLK63 BS steering wheel with paddle shift (the real ones)
would it work?
