Fascination Concept (2010 CLK preview)

http://www.eurocarblog.com/post/1167...nation-concept

With an AMG body kit, the new CLK63 (or 55/turbo) has a potential to look awesome.

It looks like a Dodge Magnum, which I liked when they first came out. Then, I started to see a million of them on the road, then came its clones... the Charger and Avenger. I can't tell them apart anymore, except that the Magnum is a Station Wagon.

And why is MB turning the CLK into a Station Wagon? Isn't the E-Class Wagon or R-Class close enough?

Plus, I read somewhere that they were eliminating the CLK-Class in 2010, and renaming it the E-Class Coupe.

I'm all in favor of it. Station wagon, pickup truck, they can make a pogo stick model too. That would actually make the W208 & W209's collectable. Remember the 1970 through 1974 E-body Challengers and Cudas? After a four year hiatus, Dodge revived the Challenger name and this heap of junk carried the torch.

The first and second gen CLKs would become instant classics.

From what I understand, CLK (or e-coupe, cle whatever it might be named) will not be a wagon. Only the front nose of Fascination concept is relevant here.

It's a 'shooting brake' which I doubt MB would build. The interesting part for CLK fans is the front end. I should see it myself at the Paris auto show in a few days. From these photos the headlight treatment looks OK to me but the raised grill and hood (on account of European pedestrian impact standards) is a little bit too Cord, i.e. like a coffin.

EPIC FAIL!!!!!!!!!

i hope to god they never build that. stick with something that looks like the black series. keep the car low, wide, and fast. the perfect recipe for any sports car.

I'm not putting too much stock in these pictures. I'd rather wait and see what the new CLK will really look like before saying it is ugly or not.

The spy shots look like the love child of a Chrysler Crossfire and a Nissan Maxima.

Well, Mercedes Cars are in part owned by Daimler Crysler so you're correct when comparing a Mercedes brand model to a Crysler brand. This wagon is pure ugly at best. Mercedes Benz cars are becoming more and more peculiar looking. W209 owners hold own to your precious machines because these are some ugly *** cars coming out from Mercedes.

What cars are ugly? The new C class is hot! The new S class rocks! The new SL class kicks rear!
Please let me in on which ones are ugly.

the belt line on the car is too high. it makes the car look top heavy. they need to lower the center of gravity. that is the primary reason a car as heavy as the SL still handles so well.
