Clk55 or Clk63
. I'd love to hear from any of you 63 owners.thx,
mcs
The CLK 55 is a very nice car but it's super slow compared to that of a 63 BS.
my name is jay leno, and i am a car-a-holic.
the first step toward recovery is acknowledgement that you have this disease.
seriously, just think about this, if you're not happy w/ your CLK 55 cab(that 99.9% of the US population would drool over), EVEN IF YOU DECIDE TO SPEND BIG $'s and swap into a CLK63, how long before you lust after another car? after all, there will always be a faster/newer/more expensive/exciting/exclusive/flashier/more reliable/(insert adjective)/etc. car. good luck.

If your financial position allows it (no school fees for kids-tuition etc, big mortgages, job/financial security is good) then why the hell not do it.
The newer cars will always have the appeal - but what is the price delta in your market between the newest 55 - and the reasonable 63's - can you afford the delta - and is the 1 second faster to 62mph - and the marginal better handling, and better wheels etc worth the delta to you ?
The 55 felt faster off the line but the 63 definately has most torque especially at speeds over 60 or so. The 63 was not slow off the line by any means but the it has its real power at higher speeds like passing. Kinda like, you need to move out into the other lane then gas it or you will be in their bumper before you know it.
Both cars are great and they will equally destroy the rear tires.

But I simply have come to the conclusion that the idea of a certain whiz bang car, and the thrill of first owning one are generally better than the long term feeling of ownership. No matter if I had my 00 E430 or a new S65 in the garage, I would soon crave something else.
In today's economy, its tough to justify dropping $15-$40k more for a similar car (s500-S65 or clk55-Clk63) when you already have a very nice one.
