2005 clk amg 5.5L convertable question

I hope someone may be able to help me on this, I gotta go out of town to rescue my Dad's clk 55 amg convertable tommorow which has a dead battery. The car has been sitting a couple months now and since the avg life of a battery is 4-5 years I told him just to get a new one. So i'm taking the battery out to him, just wondering what tools i will need to do this job? I know it's in the engine bay which really has no room as it is, not sure what may need to be removed in order to do the job, any help will be very much helpfull, specially on the what tools needed part. Thanks in advance!

dude! i dont know the car! I've seen the car once (3 years ago)! Hence why i'm asking what tools i need. I'm not scared on working on cars for i do it for a living on vw's, and if the car was in front of me i most definatly would be a "man" and figure it out. The car is two hours away from me and i'd be pretty pissed off if i cant do the job cause i dont have the right tools. Thanks for your wonderfull advice tho klinh

Cool

Common handtools should be ok.
Dont forget that afterward you will probably have to resync your ABS, windows, etc.

Mercedes has a free service for this and the cost for the battery is NOT marked up. Dont waste your time under the hood. the battery is in the boot

heh, got back this morning, the battery is under the hood, just needed a extension with a 13mm socket, and a 10 mm socket to do the job, very simple (thank god). Mercedes dealerships in Canada dont have that service, also to mention my dad brought the car up from Houston to Canada, so any warranty work he needs to get done he has to go back to Montana. Thanks guys for you advice.

Trust me, I did not think it would be under the hood either, that engine takes up alot of room in there.
