I hope all of you know how to drive your 55
One question: looks like you have aftermarket wheels; do you think you gained/lost any hp from the change? Or are those your winter set?
Euro-Whatever
That still does not prove nothing. the CLK55 - Will spank the paint for the C32 - Any day, Anytime - Agreed, Driver style and method does make a difference but considering they are both automatic trans - pressing on the gas pedal is something my wife can achieve. We can argue this issue until we are all blue in the face, but that will change nothing, the simple fact of the matter is the CLK55 is faster period. pervious time slips supplied by my fellow ///AMG brothers have proved the Beast, is just that the BEAST. As well as MB website indicated the prior to the SL55 the CLK55 was there faster production car EVER. enough said, we know the truth, and the truth shall set you free - can I get a AMEN ?
WOA...easy there. He has a C36 not a C32. I've gone against my brother's friend's 208 CLK55 quite a few times. From a stop, say "bye bye" to the 55. On the freeway, the 55 slowly pulls away inch by inch after 120.
and start comparing quarter mile on track times, which mean nothing in real world situations. going 135mph through traffic, which is more important, driver skills or 0.8 faster quarter mile time?
The intent of the thread, I was hoping that most people that are on these boards are enthusiasts and not the average joes, so they know a lot more about their cars, driving etc., like a compliment, but most of you turned out exactly opposite showing your ignorance or lack of intelligence or both
it was an entertaining thread though lol
thanks for the smiles

most of you definitely missed the point of the thread

I have great respect for Brad, Simon, Vadim, Ben, Larry S and others that track their cars. When they share their evaluations and experiences the board members respect their posts. They earned that respect. You have not.
Do a search on Brad's posts. Take some pointers from Brad, a guy that knows how to communicate effectively. Also show some maturity and take your high speed driving off of the street and on to the track.
High speed driving in traffic is a display of stupidity.

You might have a greater chance of understanding this statement. High speed driving in traffic could also be due to "ignorance or lack of intelligence or both"
Sound familiar?

I've only seen one of them run at the track, and he got a best of 13.6 to my 13.4, but there was another guy there with a CLK55 and his best was a 13.6. I'd say that the cars are pretty evenly matched, with build tolerances having a great deal to do with the outcome. On a track, though, it's advantage CLK! :p
Well said. And this sheds some light on the scenario Euro perhaps had in mind - the CLK cruising along at 75 or so on the highway that WON'T get into a race with him swerving in and out of traffic.
I'm more than happy to run around a bit when the road's clear - but yeesh, in traffic? Why on earth would I want to risk some guy in a Cavalier (or insert other $15,000 car here) cutting me off as you blast by him?
I have to say, it's folks with that sort of driving habit that give the rest of us a bad name.
