CLK55, Mini S
LOL. How many times do you think this same post will be repeated?
The new CLK55s are going to be sitting in a lot of show rooms for a long time...
I don't think anyone with half a brain will pay more than MSRP for a W209 CLK55, and they won't have to wait long to order one either. A couple of more months and you may be able to get a discount off MSRP!!!:o :o :o

I luv ragtops...
My CLK55 coupe is sweet, but there is something about a cab sometimes...
I had a 450SL in central California and the hard top was hardly ever on it. A recollection burned into my memory is driving into the sunset in central Nevada 25 years ago in a Jag XKE. The top is down, and I am going through the gears up an on-ramp onto I-80. Closing my eyes now I can feel the wind in my face and hear the exhaust note.
I am thinking about a new E55, but I keep thinking an SL would be nice again too.

Was at the dealer today in Arcadia, CA (RUSNAK) getting service and saw an 03 CLK 55 AMG. They tagged on something like $17,000 to the MSRP based on "market" value!! They also had an 03 CLK 500 which was also marked up in the teens of thousands. They managed to mark up an 03 SL500 and CL600 as well, but those were sold already....I guess there's a sucker born every day.
Interestingly, they did not mark up the G55 AMG and an SLK32 AMG that were sitting on their lot. They had several 03 E500's on the lot in black without a markup. I wonder if these were ever marked up in the past?
I always thought that MBUSA forbade dealer markups and was surprised to see this markup right next to the factory sticker.

I did however get a chance to look at the dealer costs on the cars a few months ago and I was quite surprised by the mark-up to MSRP.
But I would never buy a brand new car from an authorized dealer if it was more than MSRP.

Just visually engraciating and functional!!

However, if you are the ZAINO type, - like to polish chromed wheels after removing the brake dust on a daily basis, -- enjoy your hobby and best wishes for your future.

This is how it is here in Canada. I'm not sure about the US though. Because almost all dealers here are factory owned, everything is controlled.

The 208 55's all came with the older style monoblock rims...I never cared for them as they do not flatter the hansome lines of the 208 body. The new 55 rims are nice but they should have been 18's.
