Is there a good Ext Warranty for AMG cars?
And any firsthand experience on the handling of the cab vs. the coupe,`specifically the chassis flex?
I briefly had a CLK 430 cab when they were new and I felt the chassis wasn't as stiff as I would have liked.
Expect to spend around 1.5-2.5K for a warranty that lasts up to 100,000 miles.
I have had good experience with carsolutions.com [mercury insurance]. Coverage just expired on my C32 but paid for itself over the course of 2 shop visits.
and I am covered for 60 months or 100k miles. Cost me $3890 to purchase, and it has been money extremely well spent. I just take my car into the dealer, they look if over, call Mercury, I pick it up and drive off 95% of the time with no additional out of pocket expense. Hope this helps.
I have my 2002 Beast in the dealer's shop right now and I got a call back saying that during a standard lube, oil & filter change they found this thing and that thing wrong. I asked what the ramifications were and they said "It's all covered under your Extended Warranty". Phew!

Edit: By the time my Beast gets out of the shop (tomorrow), the combined charges for the first time I utilized it with this week's charges will have already exceeded the $2400 I paid for it - and I still have 2 years left to go on it.
p.s. I did talk to Todd at Chrylser today and their product didn't sound bad and many mbworld members have done fien with their warranty. they allow you to start up coverage for $200 and finance it interest free for a year (while you can carefully watch their financial situation)
My Mercury extended warranty just came up spades today, but I'll post a separate thread about that. Let's just say that if you let a dealer work on your car, you need that extended warranty!
