What is the wood for the CLK 55 called?
Is it the same as the wood in the CLK 430 ??
Would this steering wheel be similar to the car I bought ?

You won't regret it - I love handling a real wood wheel, although for "dynamic driving" you had better put on gloves. That ebay price is about 3/4 less than what the dealer would charge and the wheel looks to be authentic.
Marcus is right - it's birdeye maple with a dark stain. All 208 55 AMGs and other CLK cars in "avantgarde" trim in Eurpoe came with it, except for cars equipped with designo wood. My particular car has a designo curly maple wheel with "AMG" embossed on the leather horn button (you can see the top of the wheel in the avatar photo).

Maybe I should pay a bit extra and keep the old wheel though... just for resale in the future....?
