03 CLK 55 AMG, IMCO muffler/Magnaflow tips, KW V1 coilovers, 19" Petrol Metrix Wheels
selling the AMG

Time for me to move on to something else guys. Winters here in Reno/Tahoe can be brutal so I am stepping up to something all wheel drive.

Car is a 2003 with only 35,000. All maintenance has been done as scheduled. Aftermarket exhaust with Magnaflow tips. KW V1 coilover suspension. Wheels will not be sold with the car. Asking $28k. PM if you are interested. I would much rather sell the car to a MB enthusiast than trade it in.

Pics are of the car are on previous threads. Otherwise PM me your email address and I will send pics.

AM,

I attempted to sell my 04 CLK55 Cab with 38,000 a month ago for $29K and I got 0 response. The market for high end cars is extremely soft. I don't want to be discouraging but want to let you know that it might be a little difficult to get $28K for a 03 even with those incredible mods (the average buyer or KBB really can't appreciate the $ value of the mods). I have decided to keep my CLK until it reaches 100K miles; I originally wanted to sell it to get either the G500 for my wife or possibly a used DB9. Good luck with your sale.

Check out the car's value at www.kbb.com
Take a look at the private party price. You might be shocked.

What's most shocking is why anyone would sell. AMGoodness could keep his car another year, drive it 15000 more miles and only lose a further $2 grand in depreciation.

That's a good point. But sometimes, life tells you to sell the car sooner than logic!

Best of luck, AMGG and let us know what you get next!

Yeah it sucks. You're looking at about $19K.....$20K if you're lucky. Thats why I'm keeping my car forever.

Unfortunately, no company will warranty your car forever. Once the warranty is over, I would suggest to sell. I just had my tranny and torque converter replaced free of charge at 29,000 miles on my 55 and without warranty it would have cost me around $$$10,000. That is not what a mercedes should be about.

Ouch. But rumour has it the Chyrsler 300 is basically the same tranny. At the bankruptcy sale should I pick one up, just in case ?

guys i think i would be lucky to sell at $20-23. i tried to go the trade in route and they offered $14k!!!! we bought an extended warranty for another three years or 36,000 miles. We will keep the car at least another two years.

outside of wanting something all wheel drive i decided to sell because MB of Reno destroyed the wheels you see in my pic. one of their people sprayed the wheels with degreaser which reacted with the polished aluminum. Mind you this was on a routine service trip. Anyway the wheels were ruined and MB bought them from me. To their credit they never tried to play games and in the end they cut me a check for what I paid brand new.

So i thought if there was ever a good time to sell/trade then it was now. you guys are all right though the market is way too soft. poor me i am stuck driving an AMG for the next two years!!!!

i am buying some OEM SLR reps as replacements. much, much less expensive. now if only they will fit......

the only negative of running coilovers is that it is very difficult to find wheels that fit without going custom. i should get the wheels this week so we will see.

For the right money i would let it go. At $25k i could walk away and not be too upset. PM me if you are sincerely interested and we can negotiate.

i am having some new wheels put on tomorrow. Petrol Metrix wheels by TSW. 19x8 et 24 up front and 19x9.5 et 20 out back. My car is really low but these wheels will fit perfectly with no spacers needed. i have a good friend works for a wheel distributor that let me know about these wheels. Screaming deal because they are being discontinued by TSW. anyway if i sold the car these wheels would be included along with the stock 17's for the winter. oh i also picked up an extra front and rear wheel just in case i bent a wheel. Reno/Tahoe roads are sketchy sometimes.

Again for now i am keeping the car but i would let it go for the right deal. i really, really need something AWD.
