So - 209 CLK 55 front brakes fit on a 208 CLK... interesting. How tricky to install? The 208 brakes have great stopping power but they are heavier and they missed out on the caliper fashion show.Originally Posted by RAMON55
Oh and my boss has the exact same setup on his 208CLK 55 After I asked this question, it took me over a year to get the time everything lined up.
Thanks to everyone who helped
Front: W209 Calipers powdercoated red w/ BREMBO decals
Rear: Stock calipers powdercoated also
Rotors: Zimmerman coated
Pads: EBC Reds

Guys while I have to check my wheel size tonight to see if they can handle the CLK63 BBK, that is 18 inches. If I have 17s I like the Plan B of powdercoating and stenciling the calipers, having the rotors treated and going with SS brake lines and the Blue fluid. The question occurs if anyone make a SS brake line kit for my CLK55 AMG?

However, what I cant seem to find is the Hawk pads for the front. Anyone got a source for Hawk HPS pads for the front?
Second, I would like to replace the stock rotors with Hawk rotors, the Quiet slots are a possibility but cant seem to find them either. These are the closest that I can get and they are rear only, no fronts.

Again rear only. Any help sourcing Hawk performance front rotors for this car would help me round out the picture for comparison purposes against the very expensive BBKs out there. If Hawk rotors can not be sourced I welcome recommendations for similar performance rotors that would match well with Hawk HPS pads front and rear. While I get slotted I am not sure what drilled rotors add in a daily driver, HWY, occasional street performance application. Thanks
Guys sorry for the newbie run on here but I wanted to update the thread with what I think is an answer to the above.
1- Located the Hawk HPS pads front and rear from a place called Top Brakes
http://www.topbrakes.com/searchResults.php#
2- While I would still be interested in Hawk rotors front and rear I found these SP Performance rotors which come with a lifetime warranty. I opened up another thread to solicit experience about that product, so as not to double post and make it easy on the next guy who just searches for info on SP Performance products.
http://www.sp-performance.com/drilled_slotted.htm
As such the setup is starting to look like SP slotted and drilled rotors all around, Hawk HPS pads all around, the SS lines front and back and Super Blue fluid. If this sounds good it would allow me to upgrade the main components of the system for less than half the cost of a BBK and I can keep my OEM AMG rivet wheels.
. Thoughts are welcome. Many thanks.
