Question about SRS warning light/.

Hello guys...

I just moved to new home, and I had to put all sxit load of stuff in to my CLK and haul it to new place.. since then I have this SRS warning sign on the Speedometer and SRS warning appears in the center everytime I start the car..

and it says SRS ..... something and visit to workshop..

anyone experience with it? and if do, how much did it end up cost you?

and my passanger seat heated seat is not working as well as my driver seat headrest...

It's 03 and showing signs.... of $$

I moved my passenger all the way rearward it set mine off { pulled on the wiring harness } adjusting the wire ties fixed the problem.
FWIW the SRS is triggered by weight in the seat like a child or something like that.

I had the same problem.

By putting boxes on my front passenger seat it set off the SRS light.
The dealership said something about a sensor in the seat bottom ...weight...engine not being on..or something to that effect. Anyway he turned it off and it didn't come back on.

That was 8 months ago and recently it came on again. This time the download came back as the passenger airbag recieving too high ohms!
The Tech said if the car was in a collision with the SRS light being on the airbag may not go off.

Sorry to drag on!!

The Tech turned the SRS light off and so far a week later it hasn't come on again.

Your problem could just be a glitch in the system.
Under your seat is a yellow wire or connecting block. That's the wire for the SRS sensor (atleast it is on a W208). Pull it out and make sure it has a good connection.

Hope that helps.

Ps, I wasn't charged on both occasions.

Update:

I took my car to local shop for service A.

and they checked for SRS light.

and they told me it was for passanger side, Side airbag.. and they quoted me for 2400 to replace them..

but I am having super doubt,.. why did the side airbag go bad?

anyone know anything about this?

where can I find connector for the side air bag?

I dont think I want to spend 2400 for side airbag..

please help me out guys...

The circumstances that you described " hauling stuff around in the passenger seat " at the same time as the SRS started acting funny would make me very suspicious about the air bag being the true issue and not just a result of a sensor issue. I would investigate it further before dumping that kind of money on a cookie cutter repair job, but I don't trust most dealerships anyway. I do know that they wanted to repair my SRS for big bucks for something that turned out to be a cable that was pulled to tight.

Thanks.

Try to do more investigation...

Man this is giving me a hard time..

and the shop said my valve cover gasket is leaking and brake pads and rotors needs to be replaced.. however, I have replaced the brakes about a year ago. and I am srsly doubting about their opinion..

is it normal not to last more than a year?

possible but highly unlikly. It sounds as if they are trying to milk you for every penny, I call BS on your airbag aswell, check all the wires/connections like everyone said above and see if the like goes off and take it to an independent shop, don't tell them the situation and have them hook it up to the machine and see what they have to say. Also check the brakes yourself if you can, you should be able to tell if you are in need of new ones and if not most places will do a free brake inspection. Good luck
