05 CLK55 tire and wheels ???

Hey,

My stock is 18x8.5 and 18x9.5. I am getting 19s, but no half sizes-it' a 2-piece wheel. So my choice is either 19x8/19x9 or 19x9/19x10. My suspension is stock and everything else too.

What should I go with. I am being told to go wider, but I was cautioned that it will be tough to get tires to stick with the right overall diameters, I might have rubbing problems, having to roll fenders, etc...I want to avoid any headaches.

On a flip side if I go 8 and 9 width, there are more choices of tires and keeping everything close to manufacturers set ups, but the handling is not as good?

Any suggestions, experiences, examples of set ups, tires sizes, etc.....THANK YOU!!!

I just ordered mine and I went with 19X8.5/19X10
these measurements would not include rubbing!

Hopefully the offsets are perfect, otherwise you might have gone to wide in the rear. Good luck and post pics when you install them.

So your old rims only fit the W209 with spacers?

Hey guys,

so the rims at 19x9 and 19x10 won't rub? but with what size tires? How about 235x35 and 265x30 rear?

I would be interested in selling my 18s AMG, they are the rivets style. Got some normal wear and curb rash, about 60% left on tires. Make me an offer, not sure what they are worth.

Those tire specs are fine. Our car comes with rolled rear quarter panels so you wont need to roll them . Unless you go 245 front and 275 rear like me . I had to rolled the side too lol. Mind you im on 18s though.

Picture for your 18s AMG please.

FYI....Those might be replica's, so you might want to confirm prior to posting them for sale.

if you are rolling stock suspension you will be fine with the 8.5 and 10's with no rubbing. i would go with 235 and 265 out back.

Well typically the AMG wheels have the AMG logo stamped on the front of the wheels, but I could be wrong. When you take the wheel off it would be stamped with the Mercedes Benz info ie Part number.

similar advice needed

I need the same advice; however, I am a gal who is admittedly ignorant about wheels and tires... and then some. I need new wheels and tires. Currently, I have 19s, but the rear passenger tire has gone flat/blown 6 times in the past month. Yes, in the past month. The wheel was sent off to be repaired twice, but it clearly is a lost cause. SO - as they cannot find a match for this darned aftermarket wheel - I have no choice but to get four new ones. As I've confessed, I know nothing about these things... are 19s going to present more issues than 18s? I like the style of the 19s, but I do put quite a few miles on my car, so durability is important also. I'm not willing to give up the bling entirely, but I can't take ongoing issues like this.

If you could possibly recommend the best brand/s (quality-wise) of wheels AND tires, I would really appreciate it. Another dumb question... if I go with 19s, can I use the tires I now have? They're all in good shape. Two are nearly new. Any pearls of wisdom would be very welcome. Thanks!
