CLK63 AMG

Hi guys.

I can't believe I didn't notice this forum up to now!

Anyway, just wanted to say hi and to leave a few pics.

I haven't seen another CLK 63 yet ( I think I spoke briefly to a guy in Australia who had one though) but hopefully there are a few more out there.

Hey buddy.
Thanks for your comment.
How much power?
Well, firstly, I've learnt over the last few weeks that some dyno machines vary from each other.
Some even use different methods to calculate forces.
So take my figures with a pinch of salt.

Dyno said 505hp after remap.
522lbs ft of torque.

I have spoken to a few people about the results.
Some are dubious about the results while others say that it's perfectly achievable.

All in all, the car drives very well. It is extremely lively.

As for the accuracy in the figures?... well, the car is brutally quick, and that's enough for me.

Hi mate.

The 63 and Blackie?

I'd like to say that they're the same apart from the obvious wheel arches and weight reduction measures.

But I think they are quite different underneath too.
I don't know a great deal about how they vary but I know that the rear axle is more hardcore and I think there are also more intercoolers.
However, the engine and transmission are the same.

Mercedes performance figures suggest that Blackie has 26hp more than mine but has the same torque output.

I'm assuming I'm now putting out more than Blackie, but I reckon Blackie handles alot better due to the wider front & rear axles amongst other things.

With Blackie engine wise, I think all they did was remap the 63 and alter the exhaust.

Here's a crazy story:

I was on my way out for a saturday night cruise and what drove passed me?.......Blackie!

To top it off, it was also the very Black Series that appeared in the UK tv show TopGear!

I followed it and parked up behind it.
I chatted to the driver, who was really cool about me perving over his car.

But I have to say, after spending time in my car, I don't know if I would like the stripped out look all the time.
Having said that, I think the Black Series does also come with black leather seats - pretty daaaaamn nice looking seats too!

He said that he's had Ferrari's, Astons etc and that the Black Series is the best drive by far.

It's the first one I've ever seen. There are not many around at all. In the UK anyway.
Here are some pics.

Nice ride!!

I love my CLK 63 but in '07 we only had the option of a cabriolet here in the states. Which helped considerably when trying to convince the wife I 'needed' a new car.

By the way, it is great to hear from someone with a CLK63, whether Coupe or Cab!!

Thanks for noticing and replying to the thread.

Yeah, as I understand it, you guys never had the choice of the Coupe.

I have to say, that sucks.

But I'm sure the Cab inflicts the same childish grin upon your face when you put the hammer down!

Do you have any pics of your car?

Haha.

Thinking about it... it might not be such a daft thought...

I mean, would you guess there was a 63 in there?

Great pictures on both cars but "Blackie"(what a name lol) definitely stands out more just because of it's aggressive bodystyling.

Thanks for your compliments buddy.

And yes, Blackie (heehee) stands out a bloody mile.

Note the picture of my 63 next to Blackie.

.. dare it say that it actually makes mine look alittle wimpy!
