Hi Just about to buy new rims and I'm looking at the following...

W209 CLK500
Eibach springs & dampers 35mm drop

Front
Tyres 19 x 245 x 35
Wheels 8.5 J X 19" 5 x 112 ET32


Rear
Tyres 19 x 275 x 30
Wheels 9.5 J X 19" 5 x 112 ET35

I know there are a lot of links site to do with wheels and I have had a very good luck but struggled to find the exact answer.

Any help would really be appreciated.

are they possible? Yes, but at a cost. My cousins used to run that setupon his CLK 500, but the rears and the front rubbed alot, i guess it also depends where you live. he is out in L.A. i.e. very hilly, uneven and bad roads. here in orlando it's not to bad.

I also have a CLk 500, and I run 255 40 17 all around. the front rub a bit on full lock turns. but i love how the car handles now. viturally no understeer. and impressive grip.

not sure about the rear 275 but just helped my friend bought 265 for his rear.

The recommended tire sizes for W209:

Front: 225/35 or 235/35
Rear: 255/30 or 265/30

very true.


honestly look at 18 inch rims, with a drop they look real nice and their lighter than 19's and the tires are cheaper and easier to find along with a wider selection.

on a 19x9.5 use a 265.30.19 there is no need to go wider, this is the current setup on my car. I hardly brake traction when i floor it. Unless you supercharge it there is no need to go wider!

Btw if you really want you car to handle put the money towards a coilover kit rather than just springs with the stock damper. I am currently doing the h&r setup with stock shocks and it handles ok but i have come to the conlcusion that i shouldnt have been cheap and gone that route. I have just bought some bilstein coilovers and im sure this will transform my car. Im also going to get some sway bars but i cant decide what brand to get. I might get the amg set as they probably wont squeek like the aftermarket verions.

Thanks for the advice, I currently have the 5 spoke AMG 3 alloys running the recommended 225 / 255 but these look small on the car and was looking for something with some more wow factor.

I actually do have Eibach dampers & springs combined with Eibach anti-roll bars and polyurethane bushes + 4 Michelin Pilot Sport 2's and I have to say it currently handles like a dream!

By the way thanks for the info on the anti-roll (sway bars) I have been wondering what the squeak is every time I go over a speed bump for 12 months!!

The wheel I was looking at are pictured below along with my current wheel.

What I was going to do was respray this wheels the grey on these wheels to match the paint work and polish the silver areas. Thought it might look good.

Rims looks good bro. thats what im going to get for my 500 too.

I have just found a genuine set of these rims but in the following size


Alloy Size Front : 8.5J X 18 ET25 Mercedes Part number: B66030086

Alloy Size Rear : 9.5J X 18 ET28 Mercedes Part number: B66030087



However these are made for the CLS. So while I think the back could be close, I think the front will be sticking out from the fender.

Does anyone know?

Don't go with 275s in the rear. I did and I curse every time that I rub.

265 30 19!

would it matter if the rims were 19 or 18 on the rear with 275 because I have 18s and was thinking of running 275 on them but I hear a lot of problems about rubbing so im considering going 265

i'm running a 275/30/19 in the rear and my car is really low. it only rubs when people sit in the back seat but i'll be rolling the fenders soon to fix the clearance isue.

running 275/30/19 and 245/35/19 8.5/9.5 and they are fine. no rub but also stock suspension. about to put in coilovers though so we'll see.

That's crazy. I rub on the front plastic fender liner with 235s in the front on sharp turns.

I just picked up a CLK 55 with 235/35/19 and 275/30/19 but it looks like its higher than stock ride height. I hope it wont rub when I lower it.
