W208 CLK55 spring/shock question
Looking at the H&R 29377 and Bilstein sport shocks.
Anyone done this to their 2002?
How is the ride vs stock?

Sport shock is for lowered cars, so I've been told.
Also they say firmer ride.
Also they say firmer ride.

I can't speak of shocks or W208,
but my H&R springs is little bit stiffer than Stock,
and I am thinking about getting PSS9 or KW V2 once, I get my fund secured : )
This was my first time getting just spring instead of coilover
but now I can't agree more to say get coilover in the first place..

The ride is only slightly firmer than stock. I used the #1 setting on the Koni as they are adjustable. The ride is great. 0 body roll. I would do it again in a heart beat.
BTW, I paid $112 a piece for the shocks at tirerack. They were hard to find because nobody sells for performance parts for our cars, or at least it is limited and hard to find. I did find that the CLK 430 shock is the same as the 55.

My w208 CLK55 (2000) has the original Bilsteins on it and its very hard/stiff - not a major problem but can you get something else that fits and is cheaper as I'm sure that after 10 years the originals might be past their best and in West London where the road surface resembles Bagdad High Street something that has a bit more compliance may prevent me going to the dentist quite so often?? I'm told the original Bilsteins replacements cost £1000???

here is my thread on the research i gathered on different suspension options. its not quite complete but should be useful in terms of information.

from what i read, coilovers are a lot stiffer. bilstein hd, then bilstein sports, then konis from stiffest to softer. the bilstein sports are 1" shorter to compensate for the lowering springs. the HD is for stock vehicles. i think konis were the best choice as they are adjustable, stiff when you want them (track) and softer when you want them (daily)

I was working on the 208 suspension this weekend and here is the picture of H&R versus OEM AMG springs (US version):
Also, here is the comparison between Bilstein AMG OEM vs Bilstein Sports (yellow). Sport is about 1 inch shorter.

KW V2 is on my mod list. They are expensive but then do include springs and shocks.
