Man... I'm glad I opened the box before shipping these out to you...... they say they're for E55 / CLK55.... BUT they're too big..... I compared them to the access cool blue filters (which I know fit W209)..... I refunded your money.

Let me find out what these are for and I'll throw them up on the for sale section.

Sorry bud.

air boxes
Looks like I'm picking up that Renntech CF airbox for my CLK55 tomorrow! Yeah!

We also have a w113 ML500 2007 model..... do you think it would benefit from my CLK55 stock airbox? Might as well try it.... it's a free mod. What-cha-think?

Blower
Quick Question - Is the Kleeman blower for an 06 CLK500 the same kit as for an 04 CLK55?
This kit I came across is for an 06 CLK500......

Psg Miller LED's Malfunction
I hope this isn't a trend for this car, but a little problem came up yesterday: psgr mirror light (LED) malfunction. Came up on the dash, and when you hit the blinkers mirror led's don't light up.

So using my car-whisperer methods.... (passed down from generations of backyard mechanics)..... I tap the LED's on the mirror with my index finger and "whamo"!!! they start working again, and the malfunction light goes out.

Question - Is the led light package in the mirror part of a solid state module with a circuit board? Or do you all think it's just a loose connection to the LED's package in the mirror? Is this common?

HOW hard is it to access the psgr side mirror to inspect the connections? I suspect the shutt-ing the door vibration is effecting the LED's.

I would expect this on my old Z-06...... dealer showed me "the dealer trick" for a failed psgr side window stuck down.... you SLAM the door with the window switch activated and "whamo"! the GM window starts working. Gotta love it

Any help is appreciated from the AMG gods

Cheers,
Jeff

I fixed the Mirror LED's. You just have to carefully I stress carefully take the psg side mirror, off, pull the mirror out (snaps out), then I took the LED module out and checked all the connections.

I'll try some contact cleaner if this keeps up. I'm guessing the culprit is the LED connector in the mirror assy. It looks exposed to the elements.

.....

RE - C63 Exhaust..... way loud even in stock form. It is not discrete...... but I love it....... I don't want to daily drive it...... but it sounds mean. How you guys are running open exhaust in the C63's is beyond me!!! it must rattle the windows.

Next round of Mods....
Looks like it's time for next round of mods:

Current Mods:
RennTech CF Airbox
AMS Headers
300 Cell Secondary Cats
MotorWerks Tune
LSD

Phase II Mods:
Cams
Ported/Polished Intake
New Tune.

Do you all think I'll be in high 12's territory with the above mods?

Also do you see any issues with installing the cams/intake myself? I've rebuilt american fuel inj fords, added blowers, built strokers, done 5 spd swaps my self... this should be no different?

Thx.

I don't think anyone's successfully found a non-one off custom set of cams for our cars. Hooley swaped e55k cams into his c55 before he put a blower on it and it made zero hp.

If you find a set let us know!

Also, in the c55 section TVT has a ported and thermal coated intake manifold for sale for ~800 dollars. Looks promising but I'm waiting on a dyno result.

sounds like ur building that engine to supercharge it

good mods I think adding drag radial should get you in 12's easily

what kind of LSD do you have on?

Quaife LSD.

I thought kleeman had a set of cams (made by shcrick?)
Is there a custom cam grinder out there for my clk55? M113 motor? I'd go that route too.

I'm talking to TVT now about an intake. TVT also is looking at the TB's, but R&D takes time.

Thanks SO CAL!..

Phase II coming next.... cams, ported/polished intake/MotorWerks Dynotune-age.

I'm trying to track down the custom PTE cam source from the days of old... Heard these made the most HP....... but had a rumpety idle...... which is not a problem for me.

Contact Patrick with PTEngineering for the VRP/PTE cams and titanium valve spring retainers. He's still selling them and just received a new batch. The idle is not that lumpy as these cams are very mild, though they are the most aggressive cams currently available. You can PM me if you can't get in touch with him.

I plan on doing the same mods to my SLK 55 AMG. Good job and look forward to some dyno numbers after your cams and intake are installed!
