Got her from my local MB dealer , CPO, 20K Miles for $23K USD

I'm happy.
I have to clear up a few small issues and she'll be perfect..... a few scratches..... a cracked driver side mirror light lense.... and some curb rash on the wheels..... other than that pretty clean and drives nice...... not the beast of the C63.... more of a refined gentleman out on the road
..... which suits me for now..... but I do see headers, CAI, chip...... then kleeman, and coilovers in my future
........ oh the humanity.

The clk is a much better daily driver though..... easier on the rump..... but I do miss the kick in the gut of all those lovely HP/tq of the C63...... what would it take to get the same HP/tq out of my clk?
will probably start with long tubes, cai, chip..... then kleemanize it......
clay bar
wax
my own curb rash fix for now
leather conditioner
fuel inj cleaner
buffed/polished the amg tips
repaired the wind shield squirters... hose was unhooked.
set tire pressure.. it was way too high.....
I'm thinking it's time for a tune-up..... it's only 20K miles.... but 6 years old.... probably time for some spark plugs / wires.
Also thinking K&N's.
Would you all rec having the trans serviced just as a precaution due to age?
I need a drivers sideview mirror light lense..... anyone know where I can get a new one?
Cheers,
..... Oh and what a car! I just love the look with all the windows down and sunroof open....... reminds me of the old hardtop 55 chev's from back in the day.

You can't buy a new toyota for $23K..... you can't buy a new Mustang GT for $23K....... this is my dream car, and a bargain at that.

Just got back from the stealership....... having them check out a squeaky from suspension.... it sounds like the torsion rods are unhappy..... gotta love CPO.
My MB sales guru was chatting me up about having renntech work done there..... OR if I want to save some beans getting the kleeman done at "another shop".......
I'm thinking:
New Wheels/tires... HRE?
coil overs (1/2" drop.... very slight)
nat asp bolt-ons..... long tubes, cams, af's, bored mas, tune...... run nat/asp for a while..... then later Kleeman-ize it.....
and so it goes...
I've only owned this car for a couple days and I'm already attached to her..... the base model c300 loaner car is a complete downer to drive...... worse than a yota.
I added 2 more years so I've got 3 years or 100K Miles.
It's got 20K miles now..... so I'm golden for the next 3 yrs.
Looks like I would have already incurred cost if I did not have a cpo car!!!!
Hard to believe a car with only 20K miles needs suspension work... but from the looks of the curbing and the under carriage this car was ridden hard over speed bumps and into curbs and things... probably some retireeeee.... with bad vision and a lead foot

Prior to me buying it they just installed two new control arms.
Hopefully this will be the end of repairs for a while.
I had them check the MM's also, but MM's are good.
can't wait to get her back
Just talked to MotorWerks in Houston..... they can do a Kleeman for $8500 parts $2K install/tune....... time to save some clams up for this mod
sounds like u got a sweet deal, and were especially lucky to find a 5+ year old car with such low miles!!!
that's one of the great things about these cars, sometimes they are bought new by folks with lots of bucks and lots of other cars, so the mileage stays low! back in 2005 I got my 02 CLK55 with only 12k miles on it. I've kept it pristine, just passed 40k miles last month.

I'm stoked it has no mods and was not smoked in.
I think this car sat up for a while too.
I had the fuel inj cleaned and the car runs soooo much better.
It's got the Valeo radiator which I hear bad things about....... will the dealership change it out? Or do I just wait for it to go out and nuke the trans and have them fix it all under warranty?
New Direction for car....... since this is my daily driver... I'm thinking I'll just get the stock wheels fixed up, and I'll also run the stock suspension.
I'm going to limit body mods to the CF front lip and the clear side marker lights.
The fun will come with the motor: I'm thinking Kleeman S/C and exhaust and tune.
No K or Kompressor badging..... more of a sleeper.
What exhaust mods do you all rec with the Kleeman blower? I'd like to keep the stock quiet noise level.
Would I expect any cooling issues with the blower in stop-go Houston traffic in 110Deg F heat with AC on with the blower? Do you have to upgrade the cooling system with the blower install?
My experience is with Vortech Supercharged domestic cars...... the blower easly outpaces the ability of a stock cooling system.......especially with a mech type fan/clutch assy. The LS1 boys were reprogramming the ECU to turn the fans on early to keep the motors cool. Can this be done with the CLK?
THX guys..... I'm a CLK-nut now.
