Dealer says i need to replace my lower control arms, tie rod ends, and thrust arms +

Dealer says i need to replace my lower control arms, tie rod ends, and thrust arms + bushings.

Can someone verify that the parts list they gave me is correct (Ahem...MarcusF ) ?

This is what I have:

Lower control arms
qty 2 x Cross strut (204-330-20-11)

Tie rod ends
qty 1 x Tie Rod End Right Outer (203-330-20-03)
qty 1 x Tie Rod End Left Outer (203-330-19-03)
qty 2 x Tie Rod End Inner (230-338-00-15)

Thrust Arms + Bushings
Qty 1 x Thrust arm Left Front Lower (204-330-19-11)
Qty 2 x bearing front inner upper (203-333-02-14)
Qty 1 x Thrust arm (204-330-33-11)***
Qty 2 x bearing front inner lower (203-333-09-14)
Qty 1 x Thrust arm Right front lower (204-330-20-11)

***I don't know what this part is but I asked the service advisor and he said i needed it. What is it and do I need it? Am I missing anything?

Appreciate any help. Thanks in Advance!

They all show as W209 CLK parts (same as SLK parts). The items in red may be a typo. Those are three right side lower control arms. You can only use one. The left side lower control arm is 204-330-19-11 and it's not listed.

The 204-330-33-11 you asked about is an upper left side control arm. The right side is a 204-330-34-11, which you don't have listed.

Why do all those suspension parts need replacing? It looks like the front end is being rebuilt.

Thanks Marcus!
It seems like the service adviser was really sloppy about putting together a proper bill of materials.

The explanation he gave about having to replace all these parts was that there was alot of play. Do you know what questions i can ask him to verify whether or not i need to replace all these parts?

Greatly appreciate your help as always!

I'd try a *good* alignment shop for a second opinion. I wouldn't say what the dealer recommended, just have them do an inpspection and see what they recommend. I don't have any W209 suspension experience, so I can't say what normally wears and what doesn't.

For example, tie rods are normal wear parts. So are bushings. The upper control arms don't look like normal wear parts to me. Although, having never seen the part, maybe it does wear. I'd definitely get a second opinion before spending any cash.

Did you ever replace these? And also did your steering wheel shake after the KW V2 install?

so i brought the car to a mechanic that my brother uses for his bmw and hoisted the car up, examined the control arms, tie rod ends, and bearings and he said that all my car needed was an alignment. I'm never bringing my car back to the dealership for service work.

Again...really appreciate the advice Marcus!
