Brazil GP - 4 pipe CLK55

OK - who has the story on this.....?

Is this an AMG one off kompressor CLK55 or is this a sign its going be a series model? It sounded pretty good on telly.

The engine is the standad 5.5 l non-kompressor engine from the street version of the CLK 55.

The 4-pipe exhaust is available through the AMG Manufaktur.

Thanks

After I posted, I noticed the press shots and hence the "normal" non-kompressor engine.

Is it in standard tune, or with more than 367bhp?

The wheels and pipes certainly make it look miles better than a stock CLK55. Not sure about the front spoiler though - perhaps a little too much Vectra GSi?

Cheers

J

PS I'm in Munchen too.

It's definitively not tuned (maybe a few HP more through the race exhaust, but that's it).

The spoiler is needed for the oil cooling.

I think its gorgeous, I want it. I love the front bumper with those vents and the 4 piped exhaust. Wish it were the Kompressor engine though.

No. So far, only for the CLK 55 (W 209). Maybe (!) somewhen even for the CLK 55 Cabriolet (A 209).

The only exception would be an individual one-off 4-pipe exhaust through AMG Unique Manufacturing (see http://www.mercedes-benz.com/amg/e/manu/index.htm). But that would be ridiculously expensive.

All I really want to know is...

about that wheel/tire setup. Should I assume that they are cutting the 19" CL style wheel for the 209 now? Anyone have a part #? Amazing that it can iimprove the looks so much...

The 19" tires need a special kit to make them fit the CLK. Unfortunately, this kit is not available for sale by AMG and otherwise mounting these rims on the CLK is pretty dangerous.

That was my question....

I know that the 19" fitment on the 209 is not that big a deal-- other tuners have it. But I was just wondering if that wheel was now in the AMG or MB parts catalog with the correct offsets for 209, not a modified 215 wheel (which I assume is easy for AMG to get a vendor to cut or machine).

CL 19s

I put these on my CLK and I love it. All you have to do is get some specially made spacer and lugs!
