THE blower thread
yea i really want to know what my IATs are. well I know that heat soak was killing me because my best runs were 45 min to an hour apart while running back to back wasnt giving me any results. I am not sure about my injectors but the guy who worked on the car asked me to contact him when i do have to change them because he said I need a certain kind to work well with my engine. I specifically asked them not to run the boost to its max when tunning because its my daily driver and I dont want to run into any problems right now.
i am not sure either if i have a fuel pressure regulator but I am ready for the next stage in mods Ive had the blower on since october and now im ready for some more spice on my plate :P
* Will dyno the car when it arrives, IF they deem it is safe to do so. It is not running right at the moment with random (take-car-to-shop warnings), and bucking/surging randmonly.
* Then new tuning, fix issues, and redyno at the end.
Looking forward to a fun roadtrip in August.

I'm probably looking to have Kleemann take a look at mine in the not too distant future....
Dyno backs up initial claim @ 430rwhp super rich with afr running 10.9-12.5-10.1. Piggy rich, lean mid, pig rich up top.
Suspect cams are off a tooth (but will verify this week).
If car is putting 430 down with that rich tune and cams off a tooth (tbd) then I'm hopeful for some good gains from this exercise.
Before and after dyno sheets to follow.
OK back to work.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
970 miles 15hrs
Looks like a pretty nice road trip through southern Co.
I'll bring the camera and document it road-and-track style.
A little Photo montage of the my car as delivered from MW of Houston:
Base-line MW dyno - 430 corrected at wheels (not bad, but low for the work done with cams/heads p/p, afr could use some work)

Terrible exhaust work:

Random clips broken here and there (not expensive, just poor):

Fuel inj are supposed to have tabs ground off and be oriented in a particular direction (not the case here, and o-rings exposed on several inj):

Custom bracket work:

Another broken connector:

Wrong clamps used.... hose leaking for HE:

Lower valence chopped off...... not optimal for directing air to rad or HE:

More "custom" work:

Blower actually hitting a bracket and not sealed down to intake mani:

Good news, heads are indeed p/p:

Just about all coil pack connectors broken:

Cam timing appears to be off (will double check with PTE tomorrow to verify):

I'm very disappointed to see this. Hopefully my friends at MW will make this right and cover all repairs as noted.
The good news is, this car should be a beastie once these issues are corrected>
I love this hobby!

Kleemann did sell a lysolm initially, but switched to Eaton some years ago.
Klee USA confirmed 1 of the cams installed 1 tooth off. Cam pos sensor not telling the computer proper timing thus affecting maps, and shifting, and other functions.
Also getting entire exhaust system redone with proper SS and mandrel bent tubing. MW put in poor welding and then coated welds with bbq pit paint.
I can see the light at the end of the clk-tunnel

I suggest anyone considering a kleemann blower install spend the $1100 and have the car shipped to KLEEMANN USA if you want it done right.
Will post up the 'after' dyno when all said and done.
Cheers,
Jeff - Houston

On poor quality mass produced sm block ford heads major gain are found by porting the ex side. I've read the amg heads and intake mani are such good quality from the factory that they leave very little on the table for improvement; however, with a blower it all adds up.
I'll let you know when they dyno the car with cam timing spot on, and new tune... then we can compare to sim equip cars out there. Hoping for 450+ but we'll see. And of course a dyno run in Colorado (corrected) is pretty hard to correlate to a dyno in Houston @ sealevel.
I suggest your next priority should be a LSD, OS Giken is well worth the extra money because this thing will be a torque monster.
Consideration should also be given to brakes and a suspension upgrade not only because of the extra power but also the extra weight of the supercharger.
Remember when you start the engine the next step is always TURN OFF THE ESP.
Yeah in Texas you'd call this project a "goat-ropin"...... or "charlie foxtrot"...
I'm on track now for a fun car.
Budget spent for now... so stock AMG suspension/brakes will have to suffice as daily driver for now..... but yeah..that's on the planned mods..... any suggestions on coil-overs and brakes that will fit behind my slk55 wheels - I'm all ears!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh did I mention I'm REALLLY excited to drive this thing after almost 9mo's now!!!!!!

Got some pics of the motor and the attn to detail is what I was after.
