10.22.10 update..... kleemannize
stopped by motorwerks last night....
* motor is soo naked without the heads, intake, exhaust.
* cyls looked great, as they should with 24K miles.
* tops of piston has a little carbon but not horrible.
* just waiting on heads to get fin up p/p.
* then install heads, cams, blower, exh.
* dyno tune......
* then having thier paint/body man work his magic on it....
* as far as badging.... I'll pull all the rear emblems and go with the single "kleemann" in silver block letters. I can always add the amg later if desired, but I like a clean sleeper.
Awesome news hami..... but that just makes it THAT much harder to sleep at night waiting for this beaste.

Blower Thread
It takes about 250 miles for the ECU to adapt, Have them raise the idle 60rpm , in gear & in Neutral. You will have to have a hand full of steering wheel correction if you floor the cars engine at any speed below 80 MPH

DaGuitarist - I'll call tomorrow for an update...... should be ready for dyno-tune very very sooon..... then after mechanicals/tune.... off to paint.
I chickened out on the matte silver paint..... and just went with orig paint..... I'll do a wrap later if I still dig the the matte look....... I shyed away from matte paint as it might be a fad which goes out of style in a couple years....

Shop called..... 1st pull with no tune...... 355rwhp 10:1 afr....... very fat...... they're tracing down a fuel pressure issue, before some performance tuning begins........ hoping for 430-450rwhp...... but we'll see. From what I gather anything north of 440hp is strong!
Wish me luck.

He's got an slk55 inline right after me for another kleemann install. Everytime I stop by his shop he's got some serious hardware in there........ f-cars, p-cars, e55 wagon getting a tune.... on and on...... if (when) I do a 996 turbo it'll go there for the upgrades/tune.... they have a knowledgable p-car tuner there.

Thx buffy.
We'll see how much HP he can eak out of this combo with a safe tune.... a couple things holding me back from max HP....... ams shorty headers are not mid-length like kleemann headers........ and I bought an eaton blower vs the old style auto-rotor.
Hopefully the ported/polished heads and cams make up for some of that.
We'll see.
I'm getting anxious...... he's had my car for a couple months now...... driving the ML is just NOT the same

Oh I'm not complaining, it's a long story of only getting part of the blower kit, then holidays, then tracking down a fuel issue.
Fortunately I've got an ML as back-up...... but man is it a snooze compared to CLK55-K.
