1 more thing if u have the $$$ but its a risk.
compression ratio:
$$
easy way, if there are thicker headgaskets already available or have custom ones made. lower compression.......increase boost
$$$$$
hard way, swap in piston/rod assy's from an e55 amg. it will take you from 10.5:1 to 9.0:1
edit: common mistake peeps make with boost is compression bc the power increase with added boost isn't linear
for example:
engine 1 10.5:1 engine boosted 7lbs 510hp maxed out
engine 2 8.5 engine boosted 12 lbs 762hp maxed out
same engine minus compression
meaning the power increase doesn't correspond with the numbers. only X factors is engine efficiency and HEAT!!! and of course detonation but any competent tuner should be able to deal with that.

Motorwerks is tracking down the 82mm TB for this build.
If anyone in the know has the low-down on where to source, and the blower mods (porting) please help out.
I'm prob adding this to the mix.
Also chime in with anything I'm missing mod wise for the motor.

2.11.11 Update
Just got a call from MW - kleemann headers are just about done getting installed..... (swapping out the shorties to mid length K)..... then back on the dyno. Then to paint, then to me.
I forgot what it's like to drive a clk, but I think the wait will worth it.

I love the Kleemann TCU flash. It made my shifts so much tighter and faster. I think they will discount it to $695 and it's worth it.
Going on 3mo's in the shop.... but it's partially myfault as we keep adding mods......
Is there anything else I'm misssing:

Smaller pulley
Kleemann midlength headers/downpipes
300cell 2ndary cats
PTE Cams
Ti Retainers
Port/Polish Heads
180 thermostat
Tune
LSD
I'm thinking the next thing to do will be trans: clutch packs/refresh, tq converter.
Blackbenz - any thing missing in the mix? I know you have that "secret sauce" from up east

To be honest I've just forgot about this car.......... but man does it suck to drive the wallowing ML500 every day............ but that's about to change!!!!!
I didn't drive the clk55 for a while and decided to take it for a drive the other day. Man I LOVE that car! You will be very happy with it. Coming from driving ML500 for a while it will blow your mind! Enjoy it!!!

OK more updates..... 1st custom pulley was machined wrong did not fit the blower shaft..... so back to the machine shop
..... supposed to be @ MW Friday... then dyno-tune, then paint.... then to me.... I know I sound like a broken record.... I keep reminding myself this will be FUN when it's done
