Well said, very well said indeed, I find myself explaining the same thing constantly.

Quote: I was really disappointed to realize the high compression on the N/A 5.5L will prevent me from upping the boost any. I mean, the car is damn quick, but I was expecting more and there isn't really anything else to do outside of swapping in either an E55 engine or going into the bottom end with E55 parts to lower the compression.
What kind of boost are you generating now? Are you running a standard pulley from Kleemann? Headers?

I just jimmy rigged a boost gauge to see what I was getting and I'm seeing 5psi with standard pulley and Kleemann headers.

I'm not sure what it is right now with the headers, but I was running 7 PSI before so I expect that it dropped a little.

Big thanks to JC autobody in Houston, TX.
Nero had his wheels done there as well and I think he's pretty happy with them

Nice man looks great thanks for the pics. I'm considering the steering wheel but I might see if I have enough left to get one ordered. Still have a list of things to add and prioritizing isn't something I'm good at :p

A little update on my attempt at running my DAS Xentry to clear an SRS error from when the body shop pulled a door panel and started the car.

My DAS laptop T30 Bios-memory died....... OK so no big deal replace bios battery.. NOPE.....old school IBM T30 bios has a password which I don't have...... search interweb and find a way to attempt to hack the bios chip...... so build little simple circuit with res and diodes and RS232 port....... tricky part you have to solder two wires onto the circuit board of the bios chip on the T30 laptop...... then hook this up to you 2nd laptop and run some interrogation software to read the bios chip... then you process the output with a decoder and BAM..... in theory you get the password for the T30 so you can run DAS Star..... I got as far as soldering the wires to the bios chip... and chip would not read....

fast forward...... 7 hrs later...... shop ebay... found another T30 for $130 shipped..... throw old T30 in garbage, enjoy a brew and track shipment..... I'll be running DAS this weekend.

Bottom-line don't let your Bios battery die on your DAS Star T30 machines.... you'll get a lock-out condition which may render your machine useless.. fortunately they are cheap used.

I wouldn't mind replacing my T30 with a Dell D630. Still old, but at least a C2D is way better than a P4.

Bonita - whats the problem with your STAR? I did get my 1st HDD w/DAS STAR on it that did not last very long.... these cheap knock-offs come at a reliability risk it seems. My 2nd one is working fine now with the new laptop.

Good to see you back Kev.

I want to lock this one up with all the extra garbage from the start of the build nd then just put up a new short summary of the build/ mods.

This car is pretty much yours in matte silver minus some of your custom touches.

The55 - Not yet.
Currently under the knife for the next round of mods: h/e, long tubes, road racing suspension (which won't help et's) and face-lift bumper.
