I'm not sure what you're saying. You quote one part number and put "(68mm)" after it and then a second part number and put "(74mm)" after it. In the next sentence you say the "diameter is the same of both".

This may simplify it. Here's a post from seven years ago where a guy had both the ME 2.0 (old) AND ME 2.8 (new) throttle bodies in front of him. He says the same thing I just did - the throttle body sizes are different.

I don't see any confusion Marcus..!?!,

*112 141 00 25, comes with round connector, dia. is (68mm), early version "98-99"

*112 141 01 25, comes with square connector, dia. is (68mm), late version "00-02"

*113 141 00 25, comes with round connector, dia. is (74mm), early version "98-99"

*113 141 01 25, comes with round connector, dia. is (74mm), late version "00-02"

when i said both got same dia., i meant the connectors, round one or square one,,

i have "14" TB's here in my hand, all 112's got (68mm), and all113's got (74mm), i didn't see any 113 TB comes with 68mm or 69mm ever,

that's my point....!!

a couple things - the ME 2.8 upgrade did not occur until the 2001 model year for the U.S. spec W208. That means U.S. spec W208s had the early, ME 2.0 Bosch electronics. In the link that I supplied, the poster clearly stated that he had a ME 2.0 430 TB in his possession. He said that TB was an M113 part (V8) not a 112 (V6) and that TB was 69 mm. I have an EPC and I confirmed what I wrote a very long time ago. If the EPC and another person aren't enough proof, then I will not dispute it.

This is a really good thread concerning internal relation of two cars from the same manufacturer and trim with similar characteristics.

Reminds me of when Ford had a 351w and a 351C while both were fitted in mustangs and other vehicles of the 70's era.

The W (Windsor) built in Canada off of a small block platform and carried up through the fox bodied mustang chassis.

The C(Cleveland) 335 series canted valve looking more like a big block chevy in Blue Oval Ford paint designed to replace Fe and custom Limas, for racing only.

AMG re-engineered or bluprinted (custom milling) the M113 for all out performance and signature of the best of the best Mercedes Benz has to offer.

Many bells and whistles were added to accommodate the added expense of ownership of one of these machines. The overall ownership experience for me has proven itself many times over. I can not see a close relationship of the CLK 430 and the CLK 55 other than first glimpse.
I would not hesitate to buy a 430 if I were shopping but the 55 has the racing heritage built in.
The M113 is one tough customer for any ricer out there and many bimmerman, I doubt the 430 will take the M3 or vette or any late model mustang.
I have worked them over bad in stock trim, but there is always someone faster.
For a 12 year old car I still consider it the best of the best 55...........

Front Springs

I'm wondering if anyone can verify that the springs are different...

I ask because I'm looking to replace springs on my 55, but I'm having trouble sourcing the fronts. Most places seem to carry front springs for the 430 with "sport suspension." Is that the same as what was installed on the 55?

Sway bars are bigger, yes?

Exhaust is slightly different, yes?
Wheels are monoblocks but same size, yes?

Did I miss anything?

The 55 springs are different. I have a set of OE CLK55 springs and a set of OE CLK430 springs. This isn't guesswork on my part.
