last night, while parking the car, i misjudged how low my car sits and i hit the curb, scraping the whole bumper, then i tried to back up and i cracked it.. now i have a front cracked bumper, anybody know where i can go to get a good on W209 CLK55 bumpers or is it repairable.. the bumper is together, but just has a crack on the bottom left. i really need to get used to how low the car sits.

Unhappy

First off, sorry to hear that.

However, it might be a good opportunity to get the Brabus front spoiler with four auxiliary headlight - your 55 will be one item closer to full Brabus configuration.

i already asked Brabus when i first started working on my car and they said their W209 bumpers don't fit the CLK55 'cause of the mounting points on the AMG are different from that of the other CLKs.

You could go with Kleemann or Lorinser, but my personal opinion - Brabus looks the best for W209. Another choise is to replace you AMG spoiler, which is not such a bad option in a first place.

Lorinser

Kleemann

I don't know, but suspect quite a bit. That's why I would prefer to get something different.
Otherwise, you pay significant amount (definitely over 1K) and get the same thing.

Thumbs up

So, how is your front bumper doing? Did you get it fixed?

Sorry for asking, I just like your car.

I'm expecting obsidian black '04s CLK500 in July and planning to put the same Monoblocks on it, not sure 18"s or 19"s. By the way, how it feels with 19"s. Isn't it like wearing heavy shoes? Well, your engine is quite capable...

I don't mind you asking at all.

The factory wanted 1,300.00 for the factory AMG bumper cover, so i called up Brabus and they told me they can fit their bumper on my car and being a good customer, they gave me a good discount on their bumper.

so now my car will look like this but in silver..

as far as ride goes, i don't think it has changed much except it does feel heavier.. like you said, our cars are perfectly capable of handling such weight .. i think some of it is contibuted to the brabus suspension as well. but i don't think your ride would change either.

Brabus and Kleemann are not the same company. I like the bumper of Brabus that's posted, it's made out polyeurethrene (sp?) material, the same material factory bumpers are made with as opposed to other tuners who use fiberglass bumpers. Besides it's not that bad looking, i don't think it killed the car, i have seen uglier bumpers out there.

tango,

I think it's the same spoiler, the grills behind the spoiler are different though.

It seems, that the spoilers are different due to different angles the pictures were taken, different colors of the cars. Correct me, if I'm wrong.

KLEEMANN only have 1 style aero kit for 209, the one in the Evosport gallery is taken by Brad and Simon when they visited
Essen Motor show in November 2002.

The pictures must be playing you a trick.

This silver one http://www.parvinder.dk/cars/fastest...annclk-01.html

To me, those spoilers are the same too, the grills on the bottom are different.

It looks much better in black - agree.

AMG BRED,
There is one more positive aspect in replacing the factory bumper - you'll get rid of those ugly yellow corners.

By the way, are you getting rear bumper too, or just front?

OK I follow you, the silver is a photo shop picture which was made for the press before the W 209 was released in the market.

I am happy you like the black car, because it's the real thing and it looks just as good in silver.
