2001 CLK55 - curb weight: 3575 lbs.
2002 CLK55 - curb weight: 3485 lbs.
2003/2004 CLK55 - curb weight: 3635 lbs.

Thought this was interesting....
I thought they were exactly the same, why the 90lb difference?
Was there a showroom girl available with the introductory model?

I've still got both the 2001 and 2002 US CLK press kits. According to MB USA, the US spec 2001 weighed 3444 and the 2002 weighed 3485. I thought the 40 pound difference in weight could be a K2 or K2A (the optional phone and 6-disk changer) and the tires. Michelins weigh less than Continentals or Pirellis.

90 pounds is an interesting number. It's just about 15 gallons.

Only one way to really tell. Someone with an 01 and someone with an 02 with the same options and same amount of fuel bring their cars to a weigh station lol

Just find it odd, cause i beleive there were no changes.
Or its just simply a non standarized wiegh in, as Marcus mentioned could be just full tank vs empty.

There were just a few, minor changes, between the 2001 and 2002. However, not enough to make more than a tiny weight difference.
