2001 CLK 55 AMG.......... 2001 Corvette Z06.........
seems I missed alot also seems I have some straightening out to do:

ecampbell:

while i did have a BS badge I put it on the car to compliment "black out treatment" I gave the car. If asked I would have gladly stated the badge's purpose as i seen it. However; the badge became discolored and I removed it....after removing it I decided the car looked better without it. I actually removed the make and model badge from the rear deck so it actually has less badges on it. It still retains the star logo and AMG badge. I did however add a mb AMG liscence plate bracket to the front and an AMG badge to the ashtray lid....I think it looks classy and everyone i showed it to didn't even know i added it(granted they are not mb enthusiast)

Some like what I have done, some do not but what I value is exchange of ideas.....someone suggested I black out the grill which I will mock up, photo and compare to see what I like best.

check it out if you get a moment:

781m113:

I never got to read your comments but I can guess they were less than positive. Since you stepped up and removed your comments; i will do the same and remove mine. Initially I was just giving you input and a suggestion or 2 to try if you felt like it and you replied with what i thought was an attack n i was in a bad mood so I retaliated.

I see you do not like some of my mods n that's fine but im not trying to impress anyone; I just do what pleases me. There were a number of members that didn't care for the BS badge but they were a little more mature about it as I see you are now; im glad.

Lastly, I wasn't saying your car looked ricer; I was saying it looked ghetto with the rubberized spray paint or whatever.

thanks i really appreciate that dohc and apologize for letting my frustration get the better of me, didnt mean anything personally. i think any time anyone lashes out, its really about their own insecurity, im actually embarassed i did all that out of spite.. i respect those who do what gives them joy without caring what other people are going to think. bein real.. i respect all that work you put in your car.. keep it up man.

and youre right, it doesnt look as elegant as out of the factory, but thats what i like about it... looks more raw and aggressive to me now, but thanks for the input and the comment

Not feeling the "plasti dip" look. That stuff belongs on cheap American cars not a Benz. Good try though.

Edit: Fixed, now fix your taste.

LOL, simple mis-stroke of a key! Thanks! At least you can spell because your taste is horrible.

What's ironic is, you want to call out my spelling when I made a simple comment yet you fail to use capitalization in any of your sentences.

lol...pathetic name calling...781 is likely in his early 20's and is trying to make his car different. Nothing wrong but when you post on a forum for comments you are going to get good and bad.

781 you need to mature a bit..you call emoving a middle age man driving a porche (nothing wrong with that by the way) yet you get all defensive when he calls you plastic dip? If your going to dish it out, your going to get it back.

I'm gonna defend 781. Emoving saying "fix your taste" was unnecessary and started that last round. Say you don't like the car and move on.

That was added later, the original post was edited as you can see at the bottom of that thread.(I just added Edit today to clairify that) By the way, I am not permitted to post PMs unless both parties agree but his to me was a real treat. He sent it to me after a simple comment.

This kid is a real winner. Anyone that uses Plasti dip on a MB, posts it up, and then can't handle comments about it has some issues. It seems when anyone posts comments about how cheezy is looks you go on the defensive. Maybe you should think twice before using Plasti dip or better yet, think again before posting it since you can not handle the comments.

back to the subject...don't take stuff so personal and expect differing opinions when you post in public as if we all thought the same it would be boring.

u guys are all correct.. i overreacted and let my frustration get the better of me again.. emoving i apologize if i insulted you in anyway, nothing personal. im still a kid and learning to control myself.. i realize i was getting defensive lol. i peeled the plasti dip off anyways. it does look cheap and was peeling off after the first few days haha. never meant it to be permanent, but i liked how it looked when it was on even though its not most peoples look...

Accepted! That is what I was saying about Plasti Dip. It is a cheap alternative to powder coating and should be left for the Mustang crowd. I am a huge fan of blacked out cars. When they are done right of course. Plasti dip, as you learned, is not "right". My CLS55 had titanium rims and that color looked sweet on silver. Try that look with the black grill.

I was only kidding, hence the fix your taste added in there. Nothing wrong with experimenting with plasti dip since it peels right off

cool man. youre definitely right, i just wanted to try it out since i heard its fully reversible without damage.. to be honest i liked the look from far away but close up i have to admit it looked cheap as hell. i was just being defensive for no reason lol. thanks for accepting my apology, my testosterone gets the better of me sometimes. i am still young, but im a working professional, know when im in the wrong, and i should know better than to act like a child..

DAMN that **** is sick! thats the look i wanna achieve with my car when im through... wow looks so good. i always wanted gun metal rims or black ones.. but that titanium looks perfect, its not so many shades darker like gun metal or black... thanks for the input!
