W209 CLK55 oil consumption ?
2004 clk55 93k miles
After 3500 miles since oil change, car said it was short 1 quart. Put 1 qt in. Now it says short 2 quarts after 600 miles more.
What can this be? no oil leaks. Thinking either level sensor is bad but how would I know? Could it be burning oil?
anyone know?

Like MTLdude said, it might have been filled short. They need to put in around 8.5 quarts, max 9 quarts... depending on how much of the old oil drained out.
You can check the exact level by turning the key to position one (accessory mode) and then press and hold the cluster reset button until you hear a beep (it might take a while). Then press page up or down on the steering wheel (try down, then up, one of them will work, I forgot) and it should show oil level at the bottom line of the dyno mode specs. Turn the key to position 2 BEFORE START and it'll show an oil level reading. The car will reset out the dyno mode by completely turning the key back to the off position.
It's very useful since we don't have a dipstick and is the only way to know how much oil to put into the car during an oil change. If you can't access this menu, put in 8.5 quarts.
Disclaimer: I never have a problem doing this and it's nothing harmful, but research dyno mode first and try at your own risk.

C63 507 AMG DA Car #19
Wifes C63 was using about 1 qt every 3400 miles.... up until 20K miles.... then for some reason it stopped using any.
My clk55 does not use any that I know of.... but to be honest it's been in the shop 75% of the 1 yr of my ownership

Burns about 1 Qt of Mobil 1 every 3,500 miles. Very consistent in that part. I've heard the E63 goes through 1 Qt every 1,000 miles!

I've used a half quart over 3,000 miles. I didn't track it as much as usual but even then I never touched a full quart. When I bought it, and ran a compression test the max variance between high and low cylinders was 8 psi. Needless to say I was dumbfounded.

From my experience, the car doesn't burn oil, but does seem to need a quart every so often. Mine was higher mileage (75,000+) when this became routine.

I don't see that in my owner's manual. My engine doesn't use any oil within a 5000 mile change interval.
