CLK 55 AMG Inside Under Rear Window Sun Fade

2005 CLK 55 AMG

Can anyone Share how to “Remove Under the "Rear window area" inside the Car where the speakers are. That complete area is faded from the
Sun .I would like to remove the covers from the speakers and
the complete “Surrounding area to repair the fabric , there must be some
clips or something, after folding the seats forward that holds every thing
in place. My idea is to remove every thing below the back window and
repair that fabric. any ideas would be Helpful.

Thank You

The speaker covers pop out, then under the rear deck (in the trunk) the power sunshade is held in place by 3 or 4 nuts, I think thats it. I have a picture of mine stripped down, not great for seeing detail but I don't remember there being much to removing it beyond the sunshade nuts/bolts.

I am going to stop buy a upholstery shop to see what would be best.

I do not have the Sun shade so it must be the same bolts hold the panel in.

Pretty much, drop your rear seats and lift the speaker grill up at the point closest to where the rear seat sits against the shelf, it'll pop up. Then pull it up and forward - its held down by pins in the front and little latches in the rear.

The speakers are in the doors mate, there is only a single sub in the rear deck.

You have to remove the back deck cover to get to the sub, to remove the back deck cover you need to unbolt the sunshade from the trunk side.

another solution is textile paint... results vary, but certainly worth a shot... I'll be trying that before re-upholstering my deck.

Update for those who want to know exactly how to get this sorted. I took mine off and used fabric/vynil paint on it and the result is absolutely stunning. Very happy and recommended to everyone... To remove the deck, pull the seats forward and you'll see 2 clips that you need to pull out. Next pop up the two covers on top off and you'll feel the deck sits loose now. You need to take off the C-Pillar (LOL, i guess in our cars these are the B-pillar) covers off by clipping off the SRS badge and unscrew the bolt behind them. Juggle them out the rear deck and you will be able to remove the rear deck now. The indication clips to show you the rear seats are locked into place just clip out and after that you can re-upholster or paint the deck. Good luck, this is an easy fix/improvement and WELL worth it!!!
