Lightbulb AFTERMATH

I am in the process of planning my car to get modded. Out of all my cars that I have owned I have never felt this excited to mod this specific car. My only fear is that I will probably never see a dime of the money I put in when I want to sell the car later on.

Do any of you have the same fear or do you guys plan on keeping your cars for quite some time? Please make me feel better about modding my car LOL.

You'll get over that fear once you hit the go pedal.
I do not expect to get back any more than 20cents on the dollar in my clk when (if) I ever get rid of her.

I think that if you do tasteful mods, they will be appreciated by a future buyer. My goal has always been to mod for reliable, tasteful improvement, and with past cars, I have *always* found buyer who appreciate that hard work and research. Doesn't mean I got any $ out of it, but the point is not investment, it's is it worth an ear-to-ear grin? That's the return on investment, to mirror betrezra's comment!

Oddly, I'm less excited by mods on my CLK because I always considered it overkill in stock form - the hp/weight ratio and gearing are just killer - so easy to drive, and so easy to exceed all recommended physical limits, lol.

PS. Last car I modded I bought in 1997 (Audi Coupe Quattro 20v), just sold it after 15 years - the new owner LOVED the mods I had done and that helped sell it (to the right buyer).

Don't worry!

LOL that just made me feel so much better. Okay wallet get ready for a big hole, its modding time lol. The first thing I am going to do is update the interior with black carbon fiber. Unfortunately my silver interior is beat to hell and all scratched up. Whoever owned the car needs a good .

I'm going to mod my car till the day I get rid of it - that was the whole point of buying it.

You have to go into the modding game with this in mind - you're going to lose your *** on it financially and open up a whole can of worms in regards to maintenance, but none of that matters... It's a passion, a sport, a hobby. It's addictive and at the same time at the end of each mod, you sit back, look and say HELL YA!

Go for it, have fun and no regrets

Nope, but reading that again sure sounds like one hell of a sales pitch, wish I would have used that when I ran the speedshop back home

Thanks Kevwood, I feel much better now. To be honest the only reason I asked the question was due to the fact I only keep my cars on average one year time. I have never sat down and thought about modding my car. I do not know how to describe it, but I love this beast and I actually think I can keep this one for good.

It's all worth it when you WOT.

The mod I enjoyed the most was the ECU Tune. It's like night & day. I left powerchip tuning and probably never hit the brakes till i got home
