fyi...you can select kmh or miles on any cluster...so just look for any that will fit your model. What is wrong w/ yours? They can be repaired for a fraction of the price of buying one.

Well mine is working properly, but is in miles and it disturbes me driving a CLK55AMG with 160 MILES ONLY !!! because the 03-04 comes 160,the 05 06 comes 200miles,so thats why wanna change it to kmh,it will comes 320 ! And they told me the w211 speedometer works on it with a little modif , it looks nicer the one of w211 because there is the work v8kompressor under the RPM SIDE nd work AMG UNDER THE CLOCK SIDE!!

what are the small modifications you refer too to make it work properly when you change between 160 to 200 miles clusters?
do you need a re-calibration from STAR at the dealership after you did this swap?

No modifacations when changing from 160 to 200 miles or from 160miles to 320KMH if ur putting the same instrument cluster but if ur upgrading to w211 speedometer u will have to do a little modif

Listen carefully...you can change your existing cluster to KMH w/o doing anything to the cluster. Go to your settings using the steering wheel buttons and change the display from mph to kmh...it will take 30 seconds to change...it's that simple!

This doesn't change the numbers on the faceplate and I think thats what he is after. I have been driving with your process for 6 months and I'm used to looking at the digital speedo in km/h, but I'd like to change the faceplates too eventually. I'm looking at changing my silver cluster with white dials to black and do some mods to it to make it look sweet, but I'll just get a faceplate up to 260km/h and put it in my own cluster. then add an AMG decal myself, red needles and carbon fibre front cover.

I know all this my friend,i want to change the speedometer for one reason to get the view of 320KMH vs 160 MPH.
Its soo funny running a CLK55 AMG with a cluster of 160mph(260kmh) while a w203 c240 has the speed same on the cluster.
It soo annoying driving a clk55 with 160mph onlyyyyy!!!!

Honestly I couldn't care less what number it said on my cluster. Why would you bother what numbers are on there? NEITHER a c240 or a clk55 is gonna make it to 260 anyway, PLUS I want a black cluster.... so it would have to be a 63 cluster which doesn't have the red needles or the cf front face plate(except for a clk black series)... The numbers on the cluster are unimportant, it's how fast you get there that counts to me

ALSO I think it's pretty damn gay if you have V8 KOMPRESSOR on the cluster... what are you gonna tell people if they ask you if your car is supercharged when they see the cluster? (UNLESS you have a supercharger of course)

Hi Guys,
I just found this thread. Don't mean to hijack but I want to post here and not create a new thread as I already posted one in the CLK section.

Mine is a CLK 550 AMG, but I didn't look properly for the right section.....it probably doesn't matter much anyway for what I'm looking for.

I'm also looking for a KPH cluster as I'm bringing a US vehicle into Canada.
My wife will drive it, so I want to make it easy on her so she don't have to convert in her head from MPH to KPH. To me it's easy, but lets just leave it at that.....:-))

If you guys found a place where you can buy the KPH cluster please post a link. Even the KPH cluster parts number would be a great help.

Thanks
James

O, okay.
It was sold to me as a CLK 550 Convertible AMG. I wouldn't know, you obviously do.

You're telling me that the seller put the AMG exhaust, side skirts, front spoiler, rear bumper and wheels on just to screw me over?

Didn't mean to step on any toes on my first day here.....

Maybe you could shed some light on what I really have and enlighten me so that I don't make any more big mistakes here.

Nah ur all good... just pointing out... have a look in the AMG POSERS thread an you know what I'm talking about... I'm sure your car is absolutely amazing, people just hate it when people put AMG badges on non amg cars... wether you have AMG bodystyling or not...

The bodyparts and exhaust are put on by Mercedes-Benz, the AMG badge is never added unless its an AMG

Thank you, that thread was informative.
I thought I bought an AMG......it seems I bought a CLK 550 with AMG bodystyling and exhaust added to it.

I haven't seen the car in person as of yet, but it's paid for and a friend on vacation in the area parked it in my condo for me. I'll pick it up in a few months when I go down. I'm pretty sure from that thread I read that you are correct.

Anyway, it doesn't matter as I'm sure my wife will enjoy her new summer toy regardless. I won't call it an AMG again, however :-)

I have a CLK 550 that someone customized with AMG bodystyling and exhaust. Sorry, I didn't know.

Like I said, the bodykit is added by the factory (most likely) and so is the exhaust... not customized by someone... the badge was put on by someone... I would recommend taking that off as you would be explaining to everyone why your car has AMG on it while its not an AMG...
