clk55 affalterbach? Real or no?
Hi all...prospective buyer here.
Found a 2006 clk55 cab with "Affalterbach" badges. I can't find any info online about this edition--is it a real thing, or did someone throw some badges on a regular car? The only thing aside from the badges that looks different is what looks like a granite interior. What else should I look for?

Looks like someone dumped some Affalterbach badges on the vehicle. Nothing wrong with that but they can be of cheap ricey quality. Some nice ones around though. Affalterbach if you don't know is the hometown and stable of AMG.

Pictures please. Granite interior was offered in certain markets on certain lines of Benz such as SL, CL, S, and G. I've never heard of it on a CLK before which is why I'm requesting photos.

The Ebay wheel center caps are garbage I can tell you that! I have no idea where some decent ones can be found? I have an "ebay" affalterbach badge on my hood because my carwash kept destroying the raised ornament, it is of great quality I paid 72.00 shipped...there are cheapo ones on there but I am not sure of their quality

Hmm I can't really tell from the image if it's granite trim or more a darker wood trim. Do you have the VIN # for the car available? Then I can look it up directly over EPC to see what equipment the car came with from the factory.
BTW I have a set of Affalterbach center caps off eBay and the quality is quite good. Absolutely no orange peel or any uneven finish and it's held up quite well so far.

I've seen the car online that you are asking about. It is not a special edition, someone just added badges after. I personally dont think the wheel caps look bad but I would definitely take the fake Affalterbach badge off the back, it just doesn't flow with the rest of the car.
