I am always careful with that... if water sits IN your exhaust it will start deteriorating at some point. So i always wash them by hand to avoid it. maybe not as much of an issue for you in such a hot country but here in NZ it could backfire at anyone...

I post yest in ur thread,u didnt see it ? This video here with modded exhaust. My car is 04,so its not quad exhaust from factory,i did a custom quad exhaust without removing the spare tire...So not only the cabrio's are bothered with the spare wheel well, also the clk55 03-04 has the same porblem, only the 05-06 coupe comes with factory quad exhaust with a small spare wheel well so that can another exhaust fit.... check the link i posted in ur thread yesterdays

Love the sound! I have three questions- 1, Maybe I missed it but what muffler did you end up using, brand and part number if possible, 2- Taking a step back, what is the mechanical benefit to doing this mod? I mean it clearly looks and sounds cool but does it do anything for engine efficiency? The only thing that I can think of is by using four pipes you cut down on any restrictions in exhaust flow inherent in the two pipe design and get rid of some back pressure but that is just off the top of my head. 3- what rear bumper did you use to have the cut out there for the two additional tips? Again it looks great!

1- The 2nd muffler in my car is created by the exhaust shop man,he's an old man, around 55 years old,he's been in this job almot 35 years ago !!! He's a great man,he has a clean work, he just make the impossible becomes possible,he told me which sound do u like the most,i told him the 63,so he was like 5 hours and you will get that LOL & the work started at 8.30 AM,Done around 2PM. He did a great job,the best mod i did ever till now in my car,as you know the 03,04, CLK55 doesnt have quad exhaust, only the 05,06 and my car is 04,so to avoid changing the spare wheel well and get exhaust of the 05, i kept my original muffler which is bigger than the 05,06 CLK 55 and added a small one on the passenger side which is made by the exhaust man,its very small comparing to the original exhaust, the one he made is turbo flow muffler, and as well he deleted my cats and added 2 high flow resonators made by him also,(the resonator on the new muffler added is bigger than the one on the factory muffler,in this way he could make the sound equal in both mufflers),the man know his job very well,if u see the my exhaust system, you will really be shocked. The car has really a VERY VERY AGRESSIVE SOUND,you can know the car is coming if u r driving it HARD,As well i will record a video and post it once im back to my country...
2- Removing the cats and having a true quad exhaut with high flow resonator will make the car with more response, now i feel the car is more relaxed, its like i did something that makes her breath better, the throttle response has a quicker move than before, even i didnt had the chance the re-dyno my car after the exhaust system, but i will do it once im back to my country to know the benefits i got....
3- I used my own bumper,i took it out of the car, take it to a body shop guy that knows how to do it well,he already did many before, took time like 30min only and cost me around 30$,it looks just like the 05 bumper that factory dual cut out...Many of my friends still think till now that i changed the bumper .
Feel Free to ask any other question
